View Full Version : 98 and 99-02 fuel system
i know the 98 and 99-02 are different setups. the 98 has 2 feed and 2 return while the 99 and up have 1 feed and 1 return. i need more fuel and didnt want to get a inline. can i order a 99+ dual fuel pump and run new line -8an feed -6an return? to my new fuel rail etc?
are the electrical connections the same?

never said that. I said i want to run a dual pump
the question is can i run this pump that is designed for a 99-02 (red car) on my 98(silver car)
obviously id get new lines all the way to the front. Do the electrical connectors hook up and is it bolted on the same?

Unless LS1 land fuel lines are stupid small compared to LT1 lines, why not get a lonnies perf double pump setup and run stock lines?
Or just hack two walbro 255's or aeromotive 340's, or hell two bosch -044's in there yourself. No reason to spend money to replace stock parts if you do not need em,

What are you planning that you need all that extra fuel?

There aren't 2 feed and 2 return, one feed, one return, vent and one vapor most likely, like a 3rd gen system basically. the 99 has all of those too, but the vent (burst prevention) is not at the sender, IIRC

The 99 up had the plastic tank and the charcoal canister was on top of the tank. OP is rather dim.

back to this. can anyone provide a sort of diagram for these 4 lines.
i have the fuel pump out of the tank and wanted to rig a return. i was hoping i could use the evap line at the engine bay as a return but im stuck in this line puzzle.

Not sure if this will help but it starts to go into alittle detail about converting how you want

No, there is a T right next to your fuel filter under the car. at the T, there is a line that runs back to the fuel pump assy. There's a fpr mounted on pump assy itself. If you were thinking that the regulator looking thing on the fuel rail was the fpr, it is not. That is a fuel damper.
You can remove this line from T, plug port in T, then utilize this line for your return by running fuel line from it, to your adjustable boost referenced fpr (which you shoud be using if its a turbo car).
sj sleeper can you tell mer from the picture of which line on the assembly has the fpr.
and thank you for the response.
and now what do i do with the line that isnt feed on the engine bay?
use it for what it was used?

Mario, definitely keep picking Curt's brain. He's got a couple of rodeos under his belt that may prove helpful http://www.njfboa.org/forums/showthread.php?t=58504
