Ok, before I spend hours upon hours googling it, how and where do I start the search to see if the 69 bird I bought is #s matching. The person I bought the car from said it was the original motor and trans. I know 100% that the motor is a pontiac motor. That can not be mistaken.
Any infor would be awesome.
thanks,
Tim

I'm not a pontiac guy but camaros have partial vins on the block and trans. That's the high level numbers matching, not getting into dates codes and such of other parts.
I think you can get records from pontiac to verify what the car had new that chevy guys would kill for.

VIN MUST MATCH to be numbers matching. It will also be on the transmission.
