ok, so I have swapped quite a few 10 bolts over to the LT1/PBR style brakes . I just pulled the axles on a 9 bolt and attempted to bolt up the backing plates and its a different animal all together. The backing plates will bolt up to the rear but theres a gap the thickness of the backing plates between the axle mounting flange to the rear axle housing. Anyone ever do this swap to a 9 bolt?

Going back a few years ... Ebmiller on tgo made the backing plates to do that

thanks dead. I know Flynbye has them. I was wondering if anyone had a "homebrew", WOW, the 9 bolt axles are THICK and looks like a stronger rear, I can see why they are wanted

they were good in their day. too bad those center units are not rebuildable and gear selection is poor.

Yup. Posi cones wear out. No one makes parts for them.

I hear ya on no rebuild, the 3.27s will be perfect for what I need, considering I got it a Harrys years ago for 23 bux, would have been 18 but I didnt have a core which ran me a extra 5 spot

that is a good gear for a 3 speed auto or 4 speed manual. I had that in my 82 with a TH350
