I was wondering if the front crankshaft snout of all LSx motors are the same.

Basically I am wondering if the balancers are interchangeable. I know ls1/ls6 are and ls3/ls7, lsa/ls9, etc
And I know the dry-sump engines are exceptions so that's not my concern.

I see that the GM balancer bolt will work for the ls1 through lsa engine though so that's a good sign, but I wanna know if the diameter of all LSx crank snouts are the same. And yes, i do know different cars have the balancers sit at varied depths to work with specific accessories.

My goal is just to know if an LSA balancer will fit on a LS6 crank. Simple as that.

No one with any info?
In theory it should work.
I guess I'll just have to buy one and try it...

Maybe you can call a place like Jim Pace. They have helped me with stuff like this in the past.

Thanks, from that it seems the dry sump engines are the ones where the snout is 1" longer. So apparently any wet sump crank balancer should be interchangeable.

Due to depth limitations I can't run an LSx fluidampnr balancer with the additional 8 rib pulley bolted onto the front of it. However I do have room to run an LSA balancer, which has the 8 rib blower pulley built in to it. The LSA balancer would end up sitting about an inch closer to the engine(than the ATI/8 rib) and not trying to occupy the same physical space as my ABS block.
