View Full Version : Fikse wheels

I think by the end of summer I will be in the position to finally buy the second choice wheels I want. Does anyone know of any Fikse dealers, or know when they hold the annual sale?

Also I am not sure what the difference is between the Profil series and the FM series. They both seem to be a multipiece wheel with forged centers and spun(?) hoops? The description for either series is quite vague and I am not sure what the difference is.

Choice is between FM5's and Profil 5's  and I am not sure if I want the hard anodize black centers or Titanium black centers

They are a Fikse dealer in Ocean Township. I do not know anything about sales, but since they are local maybe you can save on shipping (if it's a lot less than tax).

I think shipping would be a lot less than sales tax @~$950 (or more) per wheel = ~$280 in tax, but I could be wrong.

That place seems like they are high end, probably wont even want to talk to me

Easy question first : Titanium black

Second question of profile vs. classic : http://ls1tech.com/forums/wheels-tires/1413277-difference-between-fikse-fm5s-fikse-profile-5s.html

I will keep searching for discounts/ annual sale

Edit: just pm'ed the fiske rep on ls1 tech. I'll forward his reply

Thanks Mike. That thread is helpful.

I really really like the ano black though, but I am not sure what the titanium black looks, it is also paint, so it can be scratched. Anodize type 3 is hard, almost as hard as diamond on the rockwell scale.

I called the place above for now, see what the pricing on some 18x9's are. Once I finish the front suspension on the Camaro I will break out the wheelrite and see what kind of sizing I can fit.

I dunno. Maybe they would M&B tires for free or something too. Probably worth at least a phone call.

You have a pro-touring ride. Remind them that The Mule is the background of Fikse's web site.

lol, OK, I'll tell them that!

I called the place above, they said they would get me pricing on the 18x9's on both, I hope but it looks like I'll probably go with the Profil's over the FM's since the center size follows the wheel size compared to the FM designed on a fixed size center and a hoop or "rim" :kneeslap: to fit the wheel

They got back to me already $889 plus tax each. Thats about $70-90 less than I was expecting. Black anodize centers are a standard finish, Titanium black is $100 per wheel.

$3804 with the tax, not too bad, I was expecting upwards of $4500. Practically a steal!

FYI last years annual sale only took pricing direct through fiske to 34xx for 4 in standard colors. So that shop seems good right off the bat

Fiskes are big money, but quality. I think that you will be happy with them, but have you looked at Forgeline, HRE, and other too - similar pricing, but different styles?

HRE,

As I said Fikse was my SECOND choice. HRE STARTS around $1,200 a wheel and finishing options make the ones I wan around $1,500 each. I can do $4,000, but not $6,000.

Honestly I only like about 5 different wheels from all the companies I have looked into. I like the 5's and the 5S's too and two wheels from HRE, my GTA crosslace, my Ronal R15's and thats about it  Oh CCW has one wheel that I dont hate, but why settle when in the same price range?

Your question is?

When you see a cast wheel blow up you may understand why. :kneeslap:

Also have you seen the other things that I have bought? I know you havent seen all the body panels yet.....

I dont have a wife or kids to make me have a limit on what I or how I can spend my money. Wheels are a few months away and I like to eat Ramon noodles.....

Wheels can really make a car and I think either would look great. Hope they are strong enough for our wonderful roads.

These are the "cheap wheels" too, look at some of the more expensive brands............

I do have a locked garage and I know who has access :shifty: otherwise, that is what insurance is for

i might suggest having all the receipts and such, add them up and get your coverage upped if you haven't done so already.

I do need to do that (update my coverage this year), and I already have a spreadsheet that I track all my spending on. Good advise for anyone though

$3800 for a set isn't too enormous. This wheel I am holding in this pic costs $6,000 PER WHEEL from HRE. Yup 24k for a set of wheels without tires. Must be nice to be a baller like that...
