I found this is a common problem with the front fbody brakes. If you jack up the front end and spin both wheels one of them rotates freely and one has a lot of resistance. Mine being the drivers side wheel. I did replace the caliper with a new unit but did not solve the problem. Anyone else find this with their car? Looking for a fix.

Did you replace the front brake lines? Sometimes the rubber breaks down internally.

Did you also replace the caliper slide pins?

Yeah I ended up replacing calipers, new stainless steel lines and master cylinder and it seems much better. I also bleed the brakes at least once a year

I did replace the lines with Earl's braided stainless.

I believe the new caliper came with new pins.

Ok finally fixed the problem. First of all a little misinformation in my post the caliper that I originally replaced was a rebuilt unit not a new one. I bought a new caliper and replaced the rebuilt unit, bled brakes and problem solved. The wheel spins freely with very little resistance. I guess it's a hit or miss with a rebuilt caliper. The passenger side was a rebuilt unit but works fine.
