Hey F-body folks. I haven't been on in a long time so I figured I should reintroduce myself. I just picked up a 1986 Trans Am last week from the original owner. 305, carb, 5 speed and t tops. The car is bone stock. Fuel pump is shot and its been sitting for two years. It has red interior with gray inserts. I have seen many Firebirds and T/As and this is the first one I had seen with this interior. Pretty cool.

I live in Brick and see the next meeting is down the street at Quaker Steak. Hopefully I can get it road worthy in a week.

nice ride. try to drain the fuel tank as much as possible before dropping down the fuel tank to access the internal pump. also check for a loose ground wire for the fuel pump before dropping the tank...might save you some time. the ground connection was awful on my brothers 87 gta .....which we only discovered after 4 hrs of a pump install. fuel pump ground wire runs into the cabin and is located under the carpet of the rear drivers side lower seat.

Thanks for the welcome and the tip on the fuel pump. It's got a mechanical pump on the block since its got a carburetor. Should be an easy swap out. I was planning on draining the fuel since this ethanol crap doesn't sit well. Should be happening this week.

She's running! Needs a good tune up so that's going to be next weeks project after Christmas. Also the T-Top leak like an SOB (shocker I know) so that is going on the get done quick list.

Nice ride!

Put up some pics of the interior.

FYI - I have a boatload of experience with the LG4/L69 cars and even have a brand new 3rd Gen Magnaflow catback in the shop in my shop if you ever want to upgrade.

New pictures coming soon when I get the tune up and detail done. The Magnaflow is tempting, very tempting.
