This is exploding on the 'net so I thought I'd throw it here. This place is getting curb stomped for their behavior.

John Hooper has written Camaro books. He understand the value of a 'one-owner' car, which is why he is fighting so hard. At least as I understand it.

Hope that dealership gets a ton of bad press and pressure from GM.

Plain dumb of them to play games with such a pricey car that they blatantly, no question about it, ruined.

Seen this on tech...

The dealership has their own insurance to use. They dont want to, thats it. Not suppose to go on the customer.

Dealership owner is a pos. to go above and beyond would to buy them basically a new car and give it to hoopers, not some shytbox and claim its mint.

They just need to sue all parties involved, they'll have enough cash to buy a zr1.

Seen this happen to my grandmas 2006 Pontiac G6, went to dealership to fix the leaking panoramic sunroof, 4 or 5 employees filled the car and went for lunch in it and crashed it. After a lot of talking the dealership fixed it but was done poorly paint wasn't close to matching.

Ouch I really feel for him. I thought I had a huge paper weight for 4 months and this man is still making payments on something he will never be able to use. They will get a new ZL1 hopefully it doesn't take too long.

Typical asshat that can't afford a car like that taking advantage of the situation and screwing the owner in the process. Most likely will get a job at a neighboring gm dealership in a wk. Shame

Since you have a zl1 I figured I'd ask. Do these cars have valet mode? My buddies STI had a way to lower the boost and keep it under a certain speed. It might have been an aftermarket programmer though.

No valet mode. That would be cool to have it though.

I read that Settlemire was involved and was working on a deal between Hooper and GM. I figured it wouldn't take long after that.

My attorney said he simply has to sue both the former employee and the dealership, he would win. The dealership remains at fault for their employee's negligence. Very cool it will all be resolved.

I stayed out of commenting on other forums but yea, that's the deal as I understand it too. I spoke to our general counsel and he likened it to an employee stealing data here at our office and then re-selling it. We would still be liable.

Sounds like it may be an option in future GM performance cars after this.

Anyone else catch that Hooper sent the receptionist flowers? He sounds like a nice levelheaded guy.
