I've been pushing this off for years and now I think it's finally time to say goodbye to her... If you've been in the club long enough, you've seen my red firebird. If not, I'll post pictures of her later. The oil pump failed on her one day when I was driving to RadioShack and spewed oil everywhere because the filter blew off. My brother's friend (who is a certified GM mechanic and currently works on his on VW Jetta for racing) took a look at it and said that's what it was. Unbeknownst to me, they just cleaned up the oil pump/timing cover instead of replacing it. When I got it back I went out with some friends one night and they both had V8 trucks and took off, I floored it to keep up with them and then got to a stop street....and she died. My friend managed to get her running again and we limped her over to his place (it was 2 am) and then had her towed over to my place where she has sat for 2 years.
It's your base level Firebird but I added the W68 ground effects off of my old bird that I crashed (the old members will remember that!) and had them professionally installed. I also put a Magnaflow 2.5" cat-back exhaust on her and an SLP stealth cold air intake, along with a K&N Air Hog filter. I believe there's also an aftermarket single DIN radio in there, but I'd have to check. No steering wheel controls. Just remembered that I also did a cat delete and I believe I had the ECU tuned by Bill years ago.
Everything other than the engine is fine. Last time I checked she would actually start up but lost compression so it would run horribly. My brother's friend said that the cylinders were scored due to the lack of oil.
I'm looking to get at least a grand for her since cosmetically the body is fine and nothing else was damaged.
