They may not be everyone's taste, but I really like the 45th anniversary stripes on 5th gens.

What is your opinion of those stripes on a 2010, 2011, 2013 or 2014 camaro?
The stripe kits are available with no text in the red section so any year other than 2012 could not say "45th".

I've read people saying only 2012 cars should ever have them. But if the 45 is omitted, its just a stripe style. similar to the 35th checkerd stripes. People put them on 98-02.
So isn't that the same?
I feel as long as you don't badge or label a car saying its something its not, its fine. and stripes without the text are fine for any year.

I agree with you on the whole labeling thing. That being said I am not a fan of stripes at all but that just my personal preference. As long as its not being labeled as something it isn't I see no issues with it

Thats my feelings pretty much to a T, its your car do as you please.

That being said, good god are 5th gen owners the worst with unnecessary trinkets to the exteriors/interiors....

I KNOW! wtf . lol. I've come across so much useless stuff.

even decals / stripes... hockey to yenko to gs to side vent inserts and bumper blackout decals. I just want simple stripes that stand out, not look like my car got molested by a vinyl printer.

I'm totally against people doing this stuff. If it's not a factory WS6, it shouldn't get a ram air hood. Same with the z28 and SS cars. These cars are to be kept factory original for collection and historical purposes; Anything else is not only dishonest but insulting. The worst is when you see a V8 clone but the VIN reads V6--nothing boils my blood more.

Why pour money into a lease

To make it my own for the 3 years I have it.

Even if I put stripes on a car I owned outright, I would probably decide to change it up after 3 years anyway.

I understand simple bolt on stuff that can be 100% reversed in an afternoon, but an actual body mod eh I don't know. I wouldn't want to risk the slight chance of paint getting ****ed up prior to returning it

That is a very good point. I guess if I do eventually decide to do the stripes, I'd have to be prepared for the worst... some hood/trunk paint repair.
This will take some more thinking. lol

I know gm is pretty cheap but I'd imagine the paint would stay on the car when you peel the vinyl off. If anything, that area will stay protected from scratches, fading, etc.

True. So when he peels them off he has two non faded ghost stripes. Lol
