Guys-

The fiance got a job in Bayonne, and in the absence of the Pulaski Northbound lanes, we are looking to live somewhere in that area. We both like Society Hill in Jersey City but its hard to find info on it, so I came here. The community is gated, but right outside of the community is pretty rough. Is anyone familiar with the community or know anyone who lives within it? I know they had problems during Sandy getting electricity restored, but so did most of that coastal area, which I'm generally going to be stuck in.

Let me know what you know.

-Jacob

I was a locksmith in Jersey City 7 years ago, I did some work there. That area was not that bad, it was the other side of Kennedy Blvd that was bad. I just remember hearing a rumor that it was sinking.

Got engaged a month ago today. Thanks, man.

And we have since moved our search to Bayonne. Never heard about the sinking, but I read some concerning stuff about the area. I'd rather not be locked into a development and have to worry about her safety when she goes food shopping in the evening.

Did you look into Port Liberty?

I have no clue where that is. Is that the Cape Liberty cruise line port?

I wish. I tried convincing her to move south, but she wants to live near her family.

Did you ever find a place in the area Jake? I'm looking into that area for school come March/April

Nope. We gave up looking there and are now looking in Rutherford/Secaucus area. To be honest, that area is pretty sketchy and seems to be going downhill quite quickly. If you are going to live in that area, spring to live in downtown or JC Heights.
