Gm's biggest competition is w/in its company...cts-v/ss sports sedan/buick regal gs and now this. Yes, they come in different power plants however that is a lot of sports sedans from one company. should have went coupe for the gnx and made it more sinister than the gto was.

Lots of this.

Weren't Pontiac and Olds killed off because they were supposedly too image redundant of the other GM brands?

400hp in a 4000lb car - yawn... Quick - yes, fast, no sir.

The original GNX was a pumped up version of the GN, which was more than a match for the Corvette, Mustang, and Camaro of the era. This new car would barely be able to keep up with a LS3 Camaro, get trounced by a C7, and would also be slower than the Coyote powered Ford.

A flop in the making, not to mention a huge dent in the GNX mystique.

Isn't it a CTSV with a different hood?

no. its a Cts V-sport with a different hood.
A CTS-V is different and as far as i know, gen 3 specs have not be release. gen 2 Ctsv was 556 hp.

Regal is a short wheel base Epsilon II chassis, just like the Malibu and the LaCrosse/Impala (LWB). These cars are FWD and AWD, depending on the drivetrain. CTS-V is RWD on a different platform.

...according to the link...
The 2015 Grand National and GNX sedans will ride on GM's new rear-drive Alpha platform, which was introduced with the Cadillac ATS (http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2013-cadillac-ats-25l-test-review)

So, yes, not as big as the cts, but rwd 400hp v6 twin turbo like the CTS V-sport
(And probably the same concept as the ATS-V, just with buick sheet metal)

No. This is not happening.

to elaborate more on this, they are not going to make an Alpha based sedan for Buick. I know they would like one and I'm sure it is very easy for GM to just go ahead and make 3 or 4 cars of the same platform but it's just not going to happen.

That looks horrible. A 6 speed in a sedan would be cool though...
