I found an original 87 Iroc Z28, original owner, completely original car, 5k miles, loaded, t tops, auto 5.7 FI car. Owner wants to sell and it's been in a garage since new. Driven 3 times in the last 5 yrs. What do you think and est value is? I like the car but don't love it. Owner is open to an offer but really won't say what will buy it. Car is showroom condition.

that could be a $8000-12,000 car. too many 'depends' to say but 5.7 helps a bunch

High Retail Value
This vehicle would be in excellent condition overall. It could be a completely restored or an extremely well-maintained original vehicle showing very minimal wear. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are not in need of reconditioning. The interior would be in excellent condition.
Note: This value does not represent a ‘100 Point’ or ‘# 1’ vehicle *.
* ‘100 Point’ or ‘# 1’ vehicle is not driven. It would generally be in a museum or transported in an enclosed trailer to concourse judging and car shows. This type of car would be stored in a climate-regulated facility.

so i was right in the ball park, actually a bit low

I'm sure it will need a few things from sitting. I kinda figured what you said on value. It is a sweet car in perfect shape but after having a 02Slp SS I'm not sure I would be happy with it. He is going to get back to me with a number. what interests me most is the low mileage and the condition(obviously). Were the seats leather in 87 or pleather?

not sure. be aware low mileage adds to value and thus driving it lowers that value. modifications reduce value too.

if you are looking for performance, no you will not like it compared to an 02 Slp SS. real nice cruiser though.

if he gives you a low enough number buy & flip it maybe.

No performance. I eventually seem to sell everything I buy so flipping is def something I need to keep in mind with price. Thx

In this market 10-14k are what they are being advertised for (5.7 definitely helps or 5spd/5.0..no repaints/stories). In '87 I think they were half pleather and half cloth. later 3rd gens were full pleather that they advertised as leather

I'd say 11,500.

Not something to drive, either. This seems like it would be a "museum purchase".

He called today and said he is going to bring it down for me to check out.

An another note I went to another customer's house today and they have a 48 Chevy Deluxe. Orig owner , all original car, 2 door. Yes, they want to sell it but my wife Googled pics and said " ehhhhhhhhhh no!"

I showed my wife the car and she asked if she could bring it to Island to race:mrgreen:

First year of the 5.7 came back to the Camaro, don't forget.

Technically 86 was the first year - didn't they make 250 for Cali that year as a trial run?
