Apparently RPM from Delaware has gotten out of the LS game from what I've been told I called over there today and was told they really don't mess with LS1 cars anymore but they will still retune cars that had previously been there before ... 500 dollars was the quote for the retune .... Any recommendations for other reputable shops for tuning car is a 01 Z 6 speed full bolt on 6.0 lq4

Wow, I'm shocked, they would pride themselves on being one of the best lsx shops in country, odd that they don't mess with LS1s anymore, perhaps all lsa, ls7, ls9 etc and big builds now. They tuned my '01 SS with fantastic results. I had planed to take my GTA there when the swap was completed. I'll have to contact them.

edit: I emailed them to see whats up with that.

I kno when my bolt on ls1 was tuned I spent around 300 lol apparently prices have gone up or maybe it's just cause of the swap lol ... Might use hp tuners for now just cause I'm running really rich

it's not ls cars it's that they don't want to deal with the fbody crowd.

Wouldn't that cut out a lot of profit though

It happens to a lot of successful shops. As they get rolling their success attracts bigger money guys, think Corvette owners, that want bigger builds and have deeper pockets that most of our crowd just can't compete with. If you are in business the margin on a 25k engine is a much more appealing prospect than a $400-500 bolt on tune.

Big shops don't like the do it yourself guys and want the project start to finish allowing them to know what is done and how it's done. I get a lot of problem cars due to the fact the customers cut corners and it turns out being a problem on the dyno.

I can only imagine the stories you guys have.

Or the "you were the last ones to touch it" crap.

Oh yea, we get some good ones. I've started marking bolts to make sure we were the last to touch them.

That does make a lot of sense ... My install is cut and dry no cam no nothing as of now the motor has a 3 yr unlimited mile warranty so I'm not voiding it so it's a stock lq4 with 317 heads .... My long tubes my ls6 intake and such I'm going to temporarily go back to a stock tune via hp tuners cause it's running rich till I can afford a dyno tune
