I've been low key about my SRT 10 since Dodge had it in dealer prison for trans problems, but since getting it back in Feb I've slowly been working on it, with the goal of going to an SRT show in Ohio at the end of this month. She should be back on the road by Memorial day, lower, louder, faster, and cool visually under the hood. Looking to make an appearance at the Dukes Park meet in CENTRAL NJ in July. :)

Popping out of gear in reverse. Put it in the shop for warranty repair in October, didn't get it back until February. Friggin'unreal.....

Dodge? Trans problems? No way! :). How long was it at the dealer for? That is never fun

T56...just about the same one used in many other vehicles.

if it is a t56 then tremec is having parts problems, that might explain the wait.

Dang I've never had a reverse problem (knock on wood).

Yes. I am feeling that pain right now. The problem is they are not making new parts. Not that they can't, likely that they don't want to.

There aren't any aftermarket people for the T56?

Yes but for hard parts, you want to go oem. Aftermarket stuff is cheaper and quality is questionable. None of the places I've spoken with are comfortable using new aftermarket for a performance rebuild.

T56 is such a poular transmission, is it a total lack of aftermarket or are the aftermarket parts just price restrictive? Seems like someone in the aftermarket would step up to the plate.

hanlon told me he cannot get any parts from tremec right now, at least the popular ones.

Aftermarket parts are available, not for all items, and prices are generally cheaper. The consensus I have gathered is the aftermarket parts are not well made. Maybe they would be fine, maybe not.

TR6060 stuff doesn't work in a T56?

that's like saying an lt1 and an ls1 are the same, they all have 8 cylinders lol

Everything said above is true about lack of parts support. I waited 4 months. If this trans goes I'm going automatic!!!

****, even T56s from the same era are different.

Do you know there are 20+ different front plates?

I got a t56 under the workbench w/some work done to it but syncro's are bad (supposedly). One of those 'projects' that is more of a paperweight at this point.

Dodge didn't use the tr6060 until late 2007/08 but could be a good alternative if you want to keep it manual and have future issues w/the t56.

Yeah buddy, I'd like to keep it a stick. It's fun rowing the gears in the behemoth. :)
