It's not happening. LS7, along with all Gen IV V8 engines, are dead once the fifth gen dies.
Now, the LT1 does fit into the sixth gen Camaro and the ATS (and CTS) share parts, so that's possible, but probably not.
There will be no factory-made V8 powered ATS.

i agree with bigal.. i mean the ATS-v is already faster than the CTS-v giving it more HP mean the CTS should get more right? i thought they would want the cts to be the flagship performance vehicle for the brand but i guess not.

CTS-V makes 640hp so the LS7 won't do much. This is wishful thinking.
Now, a large displacement, high revving V8 isn't out of the question for other products, but it won't be this LS7 and not in the ATS.
