Hey all,
My father-in-law has an '83 Buick LeSabre (Olds 307/200-4R trans) with 20K original miles on it. Between its age, lack of use, and new fuel mixtures that are known to deteriorate old rubber and gaskets, the carb has developed some leaks. Are there any skilled members here that can rebuild and tune a CCC carb? Or if not, a recommendation for somewhere I can send it to be rebuilt?

Thanx in advance!!

I've had this in my bookmarks for a long time but heres a pretty detailed picto-tutorial on how to rebuild a quadrajet without any special tools. At the very least its worth a read.

I currently have a quadrajet on my car from http://www.guaranteedcarburetors.com/ . I did have to fiddle with the adjustments to get it close to where it's supposed to be. Been running good for about 7 years.

May be a bit of a hike for you but these guys are great http://www.bowencarburetor.com/. I've had a few over there and they do great work.

Done a few myself. Not hard with the Texton tool set if you can fine one. The tool set does make setting the internals easy.

Thanx for the recommendations guys! I called up Guaranteed Carburetors in Middlesex, that's the closest place to us. I can remove it and drop it off to have it completely restored to new when he's ready. Maybe some time this winter when he won't be using it.
