So guys I got the 9 inch for the 02 ss from quick performance. I'll post photos of it on my project page soon.
List of options I got are;
New fabricated housing
Internal gusseting
35 spline axles
Back brace
4.11 wave Trac
1/2 wheel studs
Yukon nodular iron center section

why would you go 9" over a 12 bolt? If you don't mind me asking.

I went with a 9 inch over a 12 bolt for a few reasons I liked that it practically a quick change rear, I've tossed the idea around of running a spool at the track. I have read and been told that a 12 bolt will fail before a 9 inch will. I have a 12 bolt in my 97 Z that I'm very happy with, I guess I wanted to also try something different.

What do you have to do to make the torque arm line up? You need a bracket or do you need a different type of arm?

02 that isn't a catfish. Badass! Also, are you a 6speed or auto?

It's a 6 speed now but I think I may swap it to auto

Quick performance gave me a bracket that bolts on to the top and bottom of the housing.

Hey man I just did my 9" install, if you need a hand when the time comes let me know, Id be happy to come by.
Couple things I learned:
I had to drill out the holes for the PHB and LCA mounts because they're a too small (it seems to be common so im sure youll have the same deal). Not sure what TQ Arm your gonna run, but I run a BMR tunnel mount arm (which has been a giant pain in the ass) but it has a close setting and a far setting, for where it mounts to that bracket from QP, I had to cut off the far setting so it would clear the bracket and also clear the car.
Have that exact same rear. Ressoxsstink save for the wave track you wolnt regret it.

Just a quick photo I snapped of the front of the housing, I'll snap some of the back and get a few of the wave trac. Once I weld on the rear sway bar mounts and test fit the torque arm, I'll send the housing out to be powder coated hammer tone black. I was also looking at mid west chassis just the other day looks like I'm going to pick up one of their 8 point chrome moly cages.

looks good. yours def has more internal bracing than the Moser. mine did not have the dowls tieing the front and rear sections together
The quick housing is much nicer than the moser. I also had much better customer service from quick, moser's customer service sucked.

i didnt like the way the torque arm mounted on the quick version. i didnt really speak with either company much, but they both seemed to push me off the phones i think.

just had a quick question for you guys. I'm wondering if I went to big on my gear (4.11) I've been reading on ls1tech guys running a 408 stroker with a f1a procharger are running with a 3.42 gear or at the most 3.73. I've been on the fence about keeping this car a 6speed or going automatic, what do you guys think? Did I go to big for both? I have 305/35/18 drag radial for a rear tire for the street not sure what I should get for the track, would going to a 315 tire help with not breaking the tires loose, or should I gear the car down in the rear? This car is being set up to run E85 so it should be making 800ish rwhp. here is a link on why I ask http://ls1tech.com/forums/gears-axles/1673032-408-f1-procharger-t56-street-racing-rear-gear.html

You need to know your redline, car's power, and car's weight.

You need to know your redline, car's power, and car's weight.
All of this but in general, sounds like you went too aggressive on the rear gear. For reference my car is putting down higher 700s to the tire, weighs about 4k lbs, 3.73 rear gear with a 27" tall drag oriented tire on a 15" rim. Suspension, driving, style and all that aside, I have trouble putting the power down at the track. On the street with 305/30/19 (Toyo R888), from 2nd gear its dicey but 3rd and up is fine. However in those gears, I'm well into "go directly to jail" land.

I spoke with Max at quick performance who has been extremely helpful. He informed me that if it to much to let him know and he'll get me a gear that is not as aggressive. Moving on to the next stage of my build is transmission. I don't know if I really want to get rid of the 6 speed, so I spoke with Erik at tick performance about his level 4 tr-6060 trans. He explained to me that he converts a t56 magnum to except stock bell housings, shifters (and location).

That would be the way to go if you want to stay manual. If my built T56 breaks, I will likely need to do that upgrade. I believe those have the fluid pump built into them correct?
