Taking the dash out to remove the air box. Any tips or tricks to taking it out or is it pretty straightforward?

Some on the firewall side too but ya, straight forward. Drop the steering column.

-BMR hvac delete? Pulling the airbags too?
-A second person helps a bit when its all unbolted. It gets a little heavy and ackward.
-Careful when you remove your dashpad. Dont be surprised if you crack it a little, be surprised if you dont.

Yea, I've had the plate for over a year now, and I finally have a little time to do it. I took the firewall screws out while the motor was out so that's a plus. I'm prob going to pull the air bags as well. lighten up the load a little bit.

As mentioned above, the upper dash pad is very brittle & easily broken. Be extremely careful with it. If possible, get a second set of hands.
I've never removed mine solo. I've always had Paul* ("V") handy.
*Paul is a wizardly gentleman in northern NJ who holds the Guinness World Record for F-Body dash removal. He set the record in '06, then broke his own record again in 2010. There was controversy surrounding a 2012 removal, in which V removed two dashes back-to-back, in an averaged "Record Time," however due to a lack of representation from the GWR Adjudication Committee, the timekeeping was deemed unofficial & the 2010 record still stands. Regardless, it's advised to page The Wizard.
