I'm sure some of you guys have dealt with this before, but I recently misplaced my title for one of my motorcycles, which was purchased in California back in 2011. I have my original bill of sale, a photo copy of the original title, and a California Titlte/Registration release form. I also had my bank send a copy of the Lien release to me as well.
Do I have to go through California's lost title process (where it was last registered and insured) or can I start a new in New Jersey with all the documentation lined up?
I'm just trying to shorten up the eventual paperwork process instead of having to mail everything back to California which could take up to four weeks, I have a better chance of finding the lost title in that time frame.
