Looking to buy a tilt deck trailer... The prices around here are much higher then down south... NC, SC area. Prices are almost $2500 to $3000 more up here then down there. Thinking about taking a ride down sometime between now and spring to get one. I thought about buying a few, stacking them and bringing them up here to sell. Anyone in the market for a tilt trailer for around $3500-$4000?

Definitely the way to do it. Throw them on craigslist at a decent mark down and they will move

Brand for brand I don't believe it. I have bought many trailers (open, enclosed, landscape) and driving to a trailer manufacturer only saved maybe $1200-$1500. If there really was that much of a difference no one would buy them up here at all. When I sold trailers for a short period of time there was about $400-$600 of profit in a landscape style trailer. No one is making $3000 profit on a tilt bed trailer.
Also selling them is not that easy either. One of the reasons I got out was they wanted me to start doing the dmv work. If you buy them and want to resell you will have to title them and then sell.

20' tilt bed trailers around here are between 4500-6000. To me that's nuts, I don't who makes it. I use my trailer for taking the car to the track and maybe a short trip to OCMD. Not used commercially. Doesn't matter the brand the DOT is going to make sure they are 100% safe and rated for what they claim to be. Not saying the trailers up here aren't better... maybe they are maybe not. You simply can't find a NEW 20' tilt deck trailer in NJ for $3500-$4000. If you go down south and buy them, I would assume you would get a title. Sell them in NJ and just transfer the title. Not looking to make a business out of it, just looking help a few guys save some money and get a tilt trailer at a standard trailer cost. I think CL would be a hard sell because people BS to much. They want it... but gotta wait for tax return or wait until they sell 9 things so they can give you half the money. I would only buy 2 + mine and would make sure they were spoken for.
