Registration, taxes, insurance and maintenance costs are included in the monthly rate and there is no limit on mileage.

The vehicles will be delivered via white-glove concierge to members’ requested locations and exchanged at their leisure or as their needs change. Members can just as easily take to the winding roads in a performance V Series and enjoy a back-mountain winter ski trip in an Escalade in the same week. Alternatively, they can keep an SUV during the winter months and switch to a performance sedan during the summer, with each vehicle picked up and delivered to their doorstep.

I don't know what the monthly on a new V looks like, but for someone who:

only needs 1 car;
definitely wants a model that costs $800-$1,000/mo to lease;
travels often or lives in an area that experiences all 4 seasons;

this could be pretty enticing. That $1,500/month all in doesn't look so bad after you factor in the $800-$1,000/month payment, monthly insurance cost, and the occasional maintenance expense.


Imagine driving a CTS-V year round, except being able to jump into an Escalade for the winter months, or just having a 7-seater at your beck & call for that occasional group trip. The unlimited mileage thing has me perplexed though--there's got to be a catch there.

That kinda stinks and seems silly but still, anyone that does serious mileage with commuting or sales etc would be stupid not to do this imo. If the budget is there, it can definitely save you good coin.

Only available in NYC at the moment, but the plan is that it is available nationwide. If you travel, say, to California, you could have a CTS-V waiting for you at the airport. :)

I read you could change 18 times, actually. Also interesting is that they include detailing services.

Hypothetically, let's run with the vacation idea.
Say you take a $600ish/month payment, tack on another $200-or-so in insurance costs, and go on vacation & rent a nice car for 7 days at $100/month. That's your break-even point right there. Doesn't seem so outrageous.

Pretty sure a lease or buy on a CTS-V would be in the $1,300 to $1,500 range anyway. "Free" insurance and unlimited miles means you may be getting a better deal than a lease with the option to switch things up. Good problem to have if you can afford the monthly note.

Or you could Uber Black a few rides with an Escalade to help with some of the payment.

Edit: I've actually been thinking about doing this anyway with my CTS, if it would qualify. I have a buddy that would force himself to Uber enough per month to pay his monthly car payment.

Also, the $600ish number I threw out earlier obviously wasn't meant as a CTSV lease figure. It was meant to cover a typical luxury car lease payment (E-class, 5-series, etc), and argue that perhaps a single, young-exec could justify this mindset after considering those numbers.
For S&Gs, I reached out to Grifter for an average lease quote. I figured it would have been in the $800-$1,000 range, but he said they're currently leasing for $1,000/mo with 3-5k down.

$1k lease sounds about right considering the C63s (~$83k sticker) I test drove a little while back would be $1,300 with nothing down and excellent credit. The killer on the luxury cars is the horrendous residual on a lease. The Benz had a 49% residual for 3 year/36k....wild. If the interest rate is good, it actually makes little sense to put any money down.

Talked to another salesman after I got you that Escalade quote. He said he's inquired about it but hasn't heard anything yet. Said there's about $500 in additional fees.

There's an office that has a board that shows every customer who is leasing from us, the type of vehicle and the payment. Every 2015+ Escalade is at least $850 a month, with quite a few being $1,000+.

Seems like a pretty sweet idea if you have the cash but I can't help but think it's just going to make it harder for me to make money. People don't buy cars anymore, everyone leases. They have a Premium Care service that includes free LOF's and filters until 50K. It just conditions the customer to not spend money. I'm curious to know where my profession is in the next 5, 10, 20 years. Oh snap! Sorry for the rant :mrgreen: If I find out anymore info about this BOOK program I'll post it up.
