Time has come to purchase engine mounts.

As some of you may remember, i while back i sold some Spohn solid engine mounts due to my new K member having the pedestals on it already. So the stock clamshell would bolt directly to the K.

I feel like i may have prematurely purchased those, so i would like some opinions before just diving into some more solid mounts.

Car:

Stalled/Cammed LS1 Camaro
Tubular K member, tubular Upper and lower control arms
Coil overs either from the start or after first season
Ozite carpet !sound deadening

Car will be driven sparsely. I few times to work here and there just if i need to get it on a lift. As well as a few meets. Car will be driven to the track... or wherever it may be racing :nick:

So with all that being said? anyone have any real world experience on the subject?

Given that you're embracing Le Rattle, I don't see any reason why YOU shouldn't go solid.

I didn't feel much difference going to UMI solids from the poly clamshell. The trans mount made the bigger difference going poly from the stock rubber, but you will need poly with either of these engine mount options

Picked up a polly trans mount last time i needed a few extra ****s for free shipping from WS6Store.

UMIs steel solid mounts look pretty fancy

I have solid motor mounts on mine, no issue.

Swapped from poly to a rubber trans mount cause that **** was noisy.

yeah trans mount makes a huge difference. rubber one likes to go kaboom on manual cars though lol. easy enough to swap out if youre going to beat the piss out of the car so no biggie.

Are they the tubular spohn ones like what I have ?

If so just be prepared for the engine to rise..... I am having a ton of fitment issues with the MSD and my steam port stuff because of it. Also had to shim my trans for the mount.

Also you may need that strut brace I have since no other one fit when i went to solid

the spohn ones were the ones i originally purchased with out opening the box for the K member after i got it back from being modified.

they did turbo style engine mounts, like these below

So as you know the spohn ones cant be used. So ill be using a set like these.

hopefully, keeping the engine in the same spot.

Also, i hear a FAST 92 intake sits a tad bit lower than the MSD, i know someone that has one that would be willing to swap

you should be golden.

UMI just released a new set of solid motor mounts for that style as well.

It's almost done and I bought to many fittings to not do it lol
