So far I have only really read my ECM and made the changes in there, simple stuff so the SES doesn't come on, speedo etc.

What I want to do is flash in a complete F-body manual transmission cal so I can get the AC and reverse lockout to work. What I thought I could do is use the cal from another car to modify and then put in my car, but it looks like I have to spend 2 credits to be able to save the changes to manual car file? I already spent 2 credits on my current ECM and I didn't really want to spend more, I will if I have to, but maybe there is a way around that? What I don't get is that I thought the HPT doesn't have the ability to change the VINs, so if I spend the credits on the manual car file and flash my ECM, won't I still have the 4.8 truck VIN still?

If you are trying to modify or use a tune associated with a different PCM/VIN, they will make you spend $$ on credits. Is there a reason you do not want to simply make the various changes using the compare function? Open the tune from the car, then click open compare file. You can then click an icon towards the top to show the differences. These will be highlighted for you.

I don't think it should take too long. Just take your time.

I've used the compare function, but I am assuming since this ecm is "an auto" that it isn't configured to control the RLO for the manual transmission, it's connected and isn't working. The AC also won't work because the truck does the AC differently, I am assuming it is also because of the truck vs car tune currently in it.

It looks like there is a tool you can get from HPT to do segment swaps, for complete tables, or changing transmissions. I am not clear whether it is available or not though, so I emailed and asked for the file to do it.
Hopefully this will get me correct

OK, that doesn't work. I guess I will just have to pay the credits on another file :/

I have a 80e segement swap on my PCM, and that def did not come in a LS1 car, why can't you do the segment swap?

I don't know why exactly, but it may be because of the transmission types. The segment transfer is part of the software now and no matter what I tried it was grayed out

Try contacting HP Tuners support. Might have something to do with file OS versions.

I did a lot of reading on the forum, I don't think segment swaps work to go from an auto to a manual or the other way around.

For $100, I'd make a quick phone call to them....

You were talking about buying more credits but maybe you do not need to.

Regardless, comment still stands. Why waste the credits if you do not need to?

Pretty sure I needed to, I read for several hours. Bill talked about how the tunes are very different between them
