Looks like Photobucket updated their TOS so now you have to change your account to allow 3rd party hosting for pictures.

Looks like all message boards are f-ed

They must be loosing so much money, they've been chasing money a lot in recent times from what I've noticed....

For whatever reason, photobucket is also completely blocked at work. So annoying

I think that's sometimes because people move photos in their account so the link is no longer correct. Might also disable hotlinking due to inactivity etc.

yea, $400 a year to get 3rd party hosting. I've started pulling all my photos off already and getting ready to close my account with photobucket. Past few years have been nothing but a nightmare trying to use it anyway. too much lagging and too many ads. Good riddance. They'll probably loose almost all of their users over this.

Oh, and apparently I've had a Flickr account since 2015, lol. So much nicer to use so far too.

Meh I already pay for it for BLS so doesn't appear I need to do anything at the moment.

At mine too, so I almost completely stopped going on message forums since I can't follow along most of the time. I think it is industry standard to block host sites now :(

What I don't see is if they'll charge if I never use it again or login. They have no CC info.

You can still upload photos for free, you just can't hot link to a forum etc. You can post a url to the photo on photobucket. Its science.

It's probably so they can get paid for the clicks. Once you open up a photo, you have to click to close it and that counts as activity to their advertisers. I think that is why a lot of places aren't allowing hotlinking. It does make it a big pain to try to read through a thread and have a clue what someone is talking about when you can't see anything.

wow, I went to check this out and within moments I realized that I would be deleting my account due to whatever nonsense they now implemented. I use flickr anyways and it is a breeze to use. Photobucket gives me pop up ads from the top, bottom, and sides.. on every new page I go to within their website. took me WAY too long to navigate through all of that to find any photos I needed to download (maybe about 21 in total). After all, almost all of the photos I have uploaded on there were from my computer hard-drive so I already had almost all of. What have they freakin done to the photobucket of 6-8 years ago. RUINED IT. totally deleted my account. not even upset about it at all.

I just switched to Imgur, I like the lay out personally, and its also easy to use. What kinda bums me out is that old threads/blogs on just about any type of forum will forever be lost.

Chrome users, download the photobucket hotlink fix extension, clear cache, restart.

Enjoy.

Cool, Will that also bypass the filter at work? :kneeslap:
