Ive emailed Pontiac Historical Society and GM Heritage to see if they could give me a breakdown of how many of my car were made in 96. PHS is 1961-1986 and GM Heritage goes up to 1990. Did I miss a Co. ?? I did notice a web link to firebird nation that breaks it down somewhat but not officially. By their numbers my car is 1 of lower than 20! I didnt realize my car was a rare car. Anyway Im trying to verify this or get an exact number. I have a 96 Formula Convertible its Artic white with a black top 6 speed with 3.42 gears and Graphite leather.

If you breakdown every option its easy to get a "rare" car. My 92 firebird is 1 of 2 but that doesn't mean its a goldmine either

Lol I know it's not about money.....and it's not easy to have a rare car. If you look there are only 20 white formula convertibles. I'm just wondering how many out of the white convertibles had a 6 speed. Pooping on the parade already with no helpful info

formula coverts were rare regardless of color.
my WS6 is one of about 300 red 6speeds

Well, out of the 10 colors available for a 1996 Formula convertible, There are 6 colors that are more rare than Artic White.

I think his point is there are more rare cars out there compared to yours.

Water is wet also. Are we 100% about this? How many of the other colors were mostly automatics? I'm asking about my color and 6 speed combo. Starting at 20 then auto/manual????????

I thought I would get help on here more than people pointing out other rare cars. I don't want to argue. I know there are other other rare color combos but I don't own one and I didn't ask about them

The issue is that you are asking for information that (to my knowledge) GM didn't keep records of.
Sure, we know how many may be made in a particular color/trim level but once you start adding in options it's a guessing game.
Based on the model and color it looks like it's 1 of 20. There's no formula (no pun intended) to cut that number closer with RPOs.
But you also changed your top color, lowering any "value".
And to be clear, I was saying about other cars being more rare because unless your car is low mileage, like under 10k and mint(original top, good fuel lines, etc,) it doesn't matter the rarity, its still an lt1 firebird. A mint firehawk barely gets into the teens in value. If you believe your car is so rare and matters, stop driving it asap.

I can change the top color back to black when this one fades. It's about the cool factor and knowing how many were made. Not money. Why do I need to explain? Id like to know. Way off base V.....

4th gen rare is not remotely comparable to 1st gen rare, so no one really keeps tabs on it.
well anyways...

That's 3 of the 20, yours makes 4.
So you are at least 1 or 17 at most IF those breakdown numbers are right.

So if the other 17 are totalled and one is in Costa Rica, then he could own 1 of 2 in the country. Pretty sweet.
