curious to see what kind of catch cans people have. i'm in the market for one. my ls1 has 150k on it and once in a while when i clean the throttle body i'll see a little oil build up.
any brands in particular you would recommend or anything special to look for? i see some have breathers some don't, etc. not looking to spend an arm and a leg or a kidney but looking for something decent and not cheaping out.

Original version of Mighty Mouse.
BTW, I know MyFirstZ is about to list his for sale if you're looking for a deal.

Mighty mouse is wayyyyy too much money for what you get, I have one on my very mild setup and wish I didn't get it.
ws6store lists a few options. I think kirkevil runs this (http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/catalog/98-02-ls1-billet-aluminum-pcv-catch-can/). I would have too if my dumbass noticed you can get it in black

Wow I think the prices jumped big time. I don't recall paying anywhere close to those prices.

yeah that's what i'm saying i don't want to spend a crazy amount for something i don't need. i just run a stock ls1 and am considering a cam and bolt ons in the future. any idea what the difference between mighty mouse catch cans and ws6 store catch cans are?

Do yourself a favor and get one with the clear tube that measures if it is getting full. I have an older version of the WS6Store one and I hate opening it up every so often to check it.

Anything is better than nothing but don't pay the premium imo. They all work via science!

I change my answer. I'm with Adam. Catch cans are really expensive these days! I think I paid about $100 for mine ten years ago.

It's a PCV, 2nd generation can. I believe they are on the 4th one now. It has two dirty ports, pcv clean port to intake manifold and then a breather cap with a site glass.
To give you an idea for the 440ci that I am building he recommended to stay with the PCV can and just increase my port size which is why i have this one going up for sale.
Let me know if you are interested.

I have this one mounted in the trunk via 3/8 aluminum line, it not only removes the oil and water vapors but also the heat.

I run the ws6store catch can that Adam linked plus a LS6 valley cover/pcv. Thats the best quality vs price can Ive found, and the size is reasonable for mounting. I have very little oil caught in the can with that setup, maybe an ounce every 3-4 months, and my intake comes off pretty regularly so I know the ports are clean
The sight tube on the side is nice, but the low cost ebay can I tried was a POS. fittings leaked, threads were galled from cheap chinese metal, and the filter media packed in the outlet disintegrated into the can and blocked the drain.
Go with the ws6store catch can and get a 1/4" NPT ball valve to hose barb to replace the bottom drain. Add a ft of hose to the drain barb, and you're good to go.

I run the Mike Norris CC. Drain is in a bad spot but it does what it's supposed to do. Intake stays clean.
