After an overall successful Racewars rental on Monday and a new best in the TA, I decided to take the Z to the Black Friday test and tune. The goal was to get the car into the 10s all stock down to the run flat MPSS tires. The place was absolutely packed by 10:30AM but I was able to get 4 runs in.
1st Run: This was a test to see how well the car would hook up and an uneventful 11.1 @ 128. To my surprise, there were zero traction issues so 2nd run would be more serious.
2nd Run: Ran a 10.856 @ 128.65 with a 1.685 60' which was a new best.
3rd Run: I ran a slightly better 10.832 @ 128.86 with a 1.666 60'. Woohoo! The difference between the 2nd and 3rd run was simply me going WOT more abruptly.
4th Run We had a 2 hr wait as a no time car oiled the right lane and then a car decided to travel on it's roof requiring another clean up (driver was OK). I attempted to use launch control which was a mistake as it didn't engage and I ended up doing a nice burnout at the tree. With the line being ridiculously long, I wouldn't get another run for another couple hours so I bailed and went home happy.
