My 2 dolla Grand Prix was giving me a code and check engine light for a misfire. I cleared it out but it came back. So I cleared it again and it seemed to stay away. So I figured I'd run the car through inspection even though it wasn't due until next month. There was no line at the inspection station, which was a miracle in itself! And the GP went right through with flying colors. Next up is a real tune up.

Awesome!

I'd bet it could probably use a set of plugs if you don't know how old they are.

I went through inspection with my work van this week. My helper and I were amazed we passed lol.

As long as light isn't on you're gold. I guess you drove it a bit after you cleared the light lol.

Plugs for sure. Every car I buy gets plugs

I have all the parts to do a tune up. Just not looking forward to doing the back 3 plugs.

I had a 2002 Grand Prix GT. There was a special tool used on all the 3.8 V6 motors that you could use when you removed the top motor mounts. You put it in place where the original motor mounts went and it used a large built in bolt that pressed against the block and it would tilt towards the front. It gave you enough room between the firewall and the block to get those 3 rear plugs out without any hassle. Hope this helps.

I've heard of undoing the dog bone mounts and using a ratchet strap to pull the engine forward. And removing the alternator and bracket. It's def a case of beer job...
