i was actually thinking about starting a class action lawsuit against insurance companies that didn't cover cars in nj. but then i decided it would be easier to move.

I went and got a quote for the hell of it last night when I first heard about this. Now of course I only drive a POS Hyundai Elantra, so my quote won't matter to you guys. However I did find that Geico will only charge me about $200 more than I currently pay on my father's insurance. So when I have to go on my own I won't be hit too hard. A year or 2 ago when I was plannin on moving out places wanted to charge me $2500 for the same car. I had less driving experience, yes, but still, that's a big difference (I was payin about $1400 on my dad's insurance at the time).

its a certain type of lizard. Besides, I dont think the gecko would be to happy if you called him a lizard.

Thanks to Geiko, I now own a 2000 firebird formula as of last thursday. I had New Jersey Manufactures and they wanted to charge me $5000 a year for insurance!! Geiko offered me something less then HALF of that. I really would not have my car if it wasn't for Geiko, pretty insane, but I'm defiinitely happy about them coming to new jersey.

Under my parents, NJM costs me around $2000 with about a 10% rebate. Geiko wanted to charge me $4600.

i can remember the days when my insurance payment rivalled my car payment. thankfully those days are long gone. it's crazy what they are getting for male drivers under the age of 25, not married, with a sports car. yea, we all know that is the highest risk group...

HOLY ****!!!!!

I just did a quote for the hell of it. Geico quoted me for the following:

93 T/A
Full Coverage 15K/30K min PIP Uninsured/Underinsured 15K/30K/10K
Deductibles $500/500

$556 Per six months, $1112 Annually.

THAT BEATS THE FAWKING PISS OUT OF USAA!!!!!!! DO YOU HEAR THAT USAA?????? THAT'S YOUR CUSTOMERS WALKING RIGHT OUT OF THE DOOR!!!!!!!!

Granted, I've got more research to do to see if it would really be worth Katie and I jumping ship from USAA, but if that's what we can expect, then yeah, USAA can kiss my grits and we'll be going to Geico. We're paying $2700 a year right now for the following:

Me: 89 Celica Liability only - $375
Me: 93 T/A Liability only - $475
Her: 89 Buick Century Full coverage 500 deductables - $500
Her: 93 T/A full coverage 500 deductables - $1350

Junk I say.

After some further quoting, including Katie (my fiance) and two other cars, Geico turned out to be about $400 more annually, NOT including our fourth car. My beater liability only almost doubled, her T/A remained about the same. They quoted $1509 for six months.

I think it's mainly because she's still 22 is why the rates were a little more. Mine were cheaper, but the overall was more expensive. I'm going to do some more digging and see if there's any holes in the quote.
