Yes, a very good night. We can't wait to get started on the next round of mods before heading to Island this Sunday. If anyone is running mid 14's or worse, and would like to get skooled by a v6 camaro, show up to Island this sunday
Just an FYI for those that don't think Craig will be able to hook with the 4.10's that are getting installed:
BFG DR's @ 32 psi, sidestepping the centerforce clutch from 5 grand, bogging the motor off the line with the 3.23's. :burnout:

thinkin 13's are possible once those gears go in. craig is still only coming through the 3rd gear with a 5spd car. it is amazing how much taht thing wants/needs gear, yet it still puts up impressive numbers.
if we can get everythign knocked out on saturday the trip to island is gonna interesting. the 14.66 moved craig up to 15th on the camarov6.com timeslips page, getting into the 13's wodl prolly put him in the top 5 for NA 3.8's with only external bolt ons compared to a lot fo the other cars head and cam packages and seriously reduced weights:)

Wow, very nice times! Are you powershifting, or using the clutch along the way? How are you pulling 2.0 60's with the 5-speed? My best 60's with my T5 are 2.3s.

Add my TPI 305 to that list. I ran my car last Sat. at Englishtown's "EFI Shootout" and clicked off a couple 15.3s @ 90 mph in the 90* heat/ humidity. It should be a mid-14 second car in good air with a better launch, but I'm guessing I'd lose.

Actually, let me switch tires, and I'll give yah a run.
How much does your car weight btw?

The 60's are thanks to the DRs, stiffened LCAs with poly bushings, and a poly bushing on the torque arm. I launch somewhere between 4000 and 5000 and essentially dump it, and it bogs with the tires at 32psi. It's definitely got more potential in the 60' with the stock gears. I do powershift.

Congrats on the new best.
Leave on the last yellow next time and I garauntee your R/T will drop dramatically.

Craig normally cuts pretty good lights, but they were quick treeing the street guys last night, so he waited till he had the car stalled up to 5K before launching.

Aaaah, that explains it! Last year I tried leaving at 2000 or so on my 16" radials, and it was hopping so badly I was pulling 2.6 60's. This year I was kinda babying my launch on the 17" radials, and getting the 2.3s. I don't powershift (which I know slows me down) but I'm a bit worried about breaking the T5.
Again, very very nice times, congrats!

the T5 is a pretty beefy tranny, adn if you do break it i found out recently that they are very very simple to rebuild.

i was jsut lookin at the camarov6.com timeslips page and i noticed that 8 of the 14 cars that have quicker tiems than craig listed have heads or cam or both. there is even a car that lists a 3170lbs race weight.
when the car sees 13's he will be in the top 5 for NA 3.8's. :)
can't wait to see what the gears and torque arm get him :)

Well i ran into some problems with work, i will find out on saturday night if i have to work sunday and i dont think i will. Buuuuut, if i do, i'd have to come in at 3, which really only gives me two hours at the track, maybe not so much time for a run. It would be pointless for me to go and pay all for gas and entry and only get one run. or just to watch. I'd have to leave the track early.

idk about the 4.10s, i think you'll find that the car falls flat on it's face with them. 3.73s is probably better. other than that, keep up the good work! how about englishtown tomorrow? (9/4/04) i'm goin down for time trials.

with craigs current power level the car will still be pulling hard through the lights with the 4.10's, actually he should cross the line somewhere near the peak hp of his engine.
the car needs a serious gear change because he is still comin across the line in 3rd gear(according to hp tuners it was at 5850ish rpm actually). with the added gear he should cross the line in the 5000-5200 range, which is almost ideal for a car that is supposed to make peak power at 5200ish rpm. :)
