Alrighty,

If you're driving in an f-body, and you see another f-body (camaro-camaro, firebird-firebird etc... maybe not so much as camaro-firebird etc.), do you wave at them? Especially if they wave at you?

I've found that barely anyone waves back anymore and that there is more camraderie with motorcycle riders than f-bodies.

So, can we all make a little effort this week in waving and/or waving back to other f-bodies? We are a small and dying community since GM tossed us, we need to stick together!

~Joe

PS: If anyone thinks I'm completely off my rocker with this idea.. well... keep it to yourself :P

I got tired of doing it after no one was waving back at me.

I wave back or beep or rev or acknowledge in some fashion if they seem to notice me. Of course, no one notices me in the Cougar.. need the Bird back on the road. :)

I do it all the time. I used to get kinda pissed that no one would wave back, but then I realized it is gonna take a while for it to catch on, if it does at all. I will always wave to fellow F body owners!

Jeep owners are pretty good with it. My friend Dana and I went out in her new Wrangler and other jeep-types were waving like crazy.

i try to wave first, but don't get to do it every time. if somebody waves at me, i always wave back, but that hardly ever happens.

the thumbs up works by me alot. even with other cars. like the 350z that tore me a new ass last week on the parkway. the passanger of the car had a camera in the car so i let them get a kill on tape. cool people.

I generally do wave, at least to 4th gen V8 models (sorry V6 and previous gen guys :? ) when I'm in the Z28.
I wave to Fox/SN95 Mustang V8s when in the Mustang as well.

on the GSP all the way up by saddlebrook coming out of the tolls. car put about 8 or 9 cars on me before he shut it down and i did as well. taken into effect you are running alot faster 1/4 then i am at my measly 14.6. but the kids were really cool and not typical ricer jerkoffs. then again they had a much better car then the typical honda

I guess Im car racist. I dont wave to cars that look like **** on the outside, or appear to just "driven" becuase theirs alot of people especially in North Jersey, that dont even know what an F-Body is. But If someone waves, If I dont react in time I try to honk the horn. And If its someone giving me a pull, I give them a thumbs up.

Normally if I dont hear an exhaust, I dont waste my time.

I think everybody was waving or giving me the thumbs up when I took out the 68 on Saturday. The best comment I got was at a traffic light when a guy leaned over and said "nice car, and it doesn't have one of those coffee cans sticking out the back!" I usually wave back if I'm paying attention.

i wave to most F-bodies, regardless of whether it's a firebird or camaro. i usually only wave to 4th gens though.

 HAHA! I think I'll do the same, maybe that'll get you 4th gen peeps to recognize the earlier gens.

Oh, ok, so me being poor after buying this car and making payments on a almost minimum wage job makes me unworthy of a wave?

lol, j/k. I know what ya mean, MOST stock Z's or V-6's don't give two sh*ts about the other camaro next to them, i normally try to wave to Z's and SS's, maybe the occasional 6. But, don't see that many, maybe 2 a day, 5 max, and there normally the same ones i see, like the Black SS i see at CCC with exhaust, i see him every mon and wed and throw him a wave inmy maxima. The first time i did it he gave me a look, but then i caught up to him and explained i had a Camaro, but just don't drive to school for fear(already got a foot-long scratch in it)

I usually wave, but get funny looks from the people who notice since I'm driving my Lumina around town.

When I was in Kentucky, when/where I bought my car, EVERYONE waved at other f-body owners, regardless of gen or engine. It was GREAT. We'd purposely follow each other on the road, stop at lights and chat. Ohio was pretty much the same, but once I hit central PA on the way home, people gave you dirty looks if you waved. Once I got to New Jersey, I got :finger: , SOO, I don't wave anymore. Here in Virginia, well, I haven't seen a SINGLE f-body since I hit maryland! Kind of sad..... I'm coming home tomorrow for a wedding, and for the weekend, except when I'm in philly, I will wave to all f-body's and see what happens.

We have Fiero Commeraderie, wave, thumbs up and all that. When I wave at 3rd gen Fbodies they get a very confused look like "Hey.... that wasn't a firebird." So i just stick to my own kind. So far i've only caught the notchback folk. Only one other GT around and he waves to us all the time. Nothing new there.

like jeff, i get waves from all kinds when i'm behind the wheel of the '69. most third and fourth gens do not wave, but i surmise that's because they are too young to know what's going on. lots of them are women, too, and probably don't want some old fogey in an old car waving at them.

basically, if the car was built before 1975, i wave - there are tons of antique and muscle cars in the area. otherwise i wait to see if the other person waves first. that lets me know if they are an enthusiast or just some schmoe out on the streets.

I actually get waves from Mustangs more often than f-bodies. I think they're trying to recruit me or they fear I'll swirve at them.

lol, I get the same thing when I'm out in Ohio.
As for the waves... :supergay:
I don't wave, I either nod or raise 4 fingers off the steering wheel. If it's a nice car I'll do a nod AND the 4 fingers.
I also give corvette owners a little trouble to get them to floor it :) .
My best friend in high school had a new wrangler sierra.... damn those jeep owners and there brother(sister)hood. Always waving. It did help get the girls.... maybe I'll wave to the girls with nice rides.... our I could wink :naughty: .
Oh, and I never even give ricers eye contact. That never goes well. If they rev, I give it half throttle to show them who's boss, then let them do a fly by. What's even more fun is letting them leave first, then getting a car length on them and backing off real quick. That always erks em.
Fox bodies I can't figure out. I never know if I should work with him and find a ricer to embarrass or to give him an evil glair as to say, "you're an ******* in a big escort."

I was actually paying attention the other day on my way to school, and waved to a Beautifull Hopped Up (on steroids) 2nd Gen Z28 Camaro, and it was an older dude, and he waved back!

Haha ironically, the day I started this thread, apparently j0n saw me on a local road near both of us... beautiful day, we both had the convertible top down, and I didn't see him. He called me up and bitched me out for not waving to him lol.
