I am seriously depressed (girl problems)

I just found out that my ex-g/f, who I was trying to get back together with, has rejected me. I am so hurt and confused right now...I don't know what to do....

We were supposed to hang out on Sunday...go out for a picnic or something...i called her 6 times saturday and sunday, and got no return phone call. I tried to IM her today, but she ignored me, and I read in her profile the following words:

"You can't make me love you if I don't. You can't make my heart feel what it won't."

Under that, the following:

"I've kissed many frogs in my life, but i finally found my prince...I love you XXXX!" XXXX is the guy she was hooking up with before i came back into the scene. I just called her 10 minutes ago....She told me she spent the weekend with XXXX down the shore, until sunday, and she decided he was the one, not me. She didn't even call me to tell me on sunday. She told me she doesn't see herself with me at all....and she's happy with XXXX. this is some messed-up *****...everything was going fine until the last 48 hours. then it all went to hell. she just wants to be friends, but i can't get over her. she's the only girl ive ever truly loved...i don't feel anything for other girls. i feel like a big hole has been ripped in my chest...my heart is empty. I'm alone right now...i can't talk to my parents about this, they'll give me the "I told you so" speech. I'm freaking out....idk what to do. someone just talk to me or something....

by the sounds of it she is a bitch....but i know exactly how u feel (only flipped cuz i am a girl lol)....something similar happened to me....(few years ago) something like that does mess wit ur head...there is no doubt to that. and there is nothing ne one can say to make ur heart stop feeling or your mind to stop thinking... :oops: the only thing i can say to you that didnt come across to me until it was to late is.... things happen for a reason (cleche' i know ) we may not always like it but things do work out... you just need to look for the better part of the situation. i understand the "i told u so's" i got way too many of those....but i also listened to them and sunk into a deep depression and hid myself away from everyone else. i didnt want to think about dating i didnt care....i thought that gettin screwed over has happened so many times be4 why would the next time be ne different....u cant push ur self into letting go. it kinda just has to happen....but in the meanwhile...dont doubt ur self....by the sounds of it ur a great guy ( there arent too many of them usually)...dont settle for ne thing less than what u know u should have... Yea, I feel for ya man. I have been in a relationship where I thought she may be the one....didn't work out.....got back together.....still didn't work out. Lucky for me her and I are still friendly, but it hasn't always been that way. There was a period when she lashed out at me pretty badly.

I know you've heard it a thousand times, but things will end up the way they are supposed to.

I know how if feels to be head over heels in love with someone that you can't have. Either this chick will realize that she currently with some guy that's a tool, and come to you (like what happened to me :wink: ), or you will find someone else that will cram herself into the gaping hole in your heart.

Until either of those things happen, take some time to chill, do what relaxes you (go out for a nice drive or something), and try to enjoy the single life.

I always told my friends i would never find someone and they told me not to give up and i never listened to them but they were right. so my advice is.. let it go, yes it will be rough to completely forget about her, but its possible, and hey look at it this way... theres a bunch of girls on this board, all sound sweet and decent and at the least they should have friends, maybe we need to set up an fbody dating game for all the singles. :lol:

Dude trust me when I tell you I know it sucks. I dated a girl for 5 1/2 years and was convinced we would get married. It's all she ever wanted to talk about. Then all of a sudden she pulled a 180 on me and broke up with me for no real reason. I was miserable for 8 months after. Could barely eat, work, etc.

Do yourself a favor and go out with your friends as much as possible just to keep your mind occupied. If you sit around she's all you'll think about and it will drive you crazy. If you're into lifting get some heavy metal music and hit the weights hard. Make yourself believe that you hate her and take all your anger out on the weights. If she's interested in some other guy then she's not the girl you knew her as....she's changed. And do you really want someone who's changed into something you probably don't want?

Take some time to yourself and then start opening up to other girls. I was convinced I wouldn't have another girlfriend for years, and 9 months after I got dumped I found a girl when I wasn't even looking. Best part is right after that the ex tried to come crawling back......revenge is sweet my friend, just wait for it.

BTDT for me too, except I found out the reason (at my brother's wedding). She was cheating on me with her best friend's OLDER SISTER'S HUSBAND! He was 40, she was 25. :shock:

I was devastated, being left flat for a guy practically old enough to be her dad, and he looked like a rat. Anyway, after several months of not caring about anything, I met the woman who is now my wife. Notice I said woman, and not girl. Believe me, there's a difference, and the women on this board will agree (I hope so anyway, don't need any of this :nutkick: )

Anyway, we started dating in 2000, got engaged in 2001, married in 2002, and had a baby 9 months and two days later in 2003. :D

Everything happens in life for a reason, and in the long run, you'll find someone better that will really appreciate you for who you are.

I just found out that my ex-g/f, who I was trying to get back together with, has rejected me. I am so hurt and confused right now...I don't know what to do....

We were supposed to hang out on Sunday...go out for a picnic or something...i called her 6 times saturday and sunday, and got no return phone call. I tried to IM her today, but she ignored me, and I read in her profile the following words:

"You can't make me love you if I don't. You can't make my heart feel what it won't."

Under that, the following:

"I've kissed many frogs in my life, but i finally found my prince...I love you XXXX!" XXXX is the guy she was hooking up with before i came back into the scene. I just called her 10 minutes ago....She told me she spent the weekend with XXXX down the shore, until sunday, and she decided he was the one, not me. She didn't even call me to tell me on sunday. She told me she doesn't see herself with me at all....and she's happy with XXXX. this is some messed-up *****...everything was going fine until the last 48 hours. then it all went to hell. she just wants to be friends, but i can't get over her. she's the only girl ive ever truly loved...i don't feel anything for other girls. i feel like a big hole has been ripped in my chest...my heart is empty. I'm alone right now...i can't talk to my parents about this, they'll give me the "I told you so" speech. I'm freaking out....idk what to do. someone just talk to me or something....

here comes the honesty, the answer you didn't want to hear.

this girl has problems. she is not the girl you knew, or she hid her capacity to be a psycho from you. someone who throws the above in a public profile has some serious issues. also, the fact that she did this and didn't talk with you about it shows the propensity for issues. you are better off with out her. and it's much better that it happened now than 5 years down the road when you are standing at the alter waiting for her and she never shows up.

love is a strange thing. i've only been in love three times in my life, yet the number of women i have been with is in the three digits. i can't say i used those women (sometimes i was used, though :() but i was searching for 'the one'. i either had very bad luck during my search or i missed one or two along the way. nothing heals a broken heart - time will only lessen the pain. you will always have a special place in your heart for this girl, as much as you dislike her right now.

i don't look at it as she rejected you, more like she's got some soul-searching to do herself. it's more her than it is you, and i would not take this to heart (as it appears you are doing/have done). you cannot simply shrug off a year and a half, but, with time, it will feel better. always look for the positive side of things - especially in situations like this. you are now free to continue the search, have a kick ass time with your buds, throw yourself into your car or your job or something else that you enjoy doing. you now have what most of us would kill for: time. use it wisely, not in despair because this girl moved on in one of the most despicable ways one could.

oh, and you are not alone. the number of replies to your posting should show you that (despite the hijackage). keep your chin up. :wink:

i have a livejournal account, so I took some time to write down what had happened and how I felt. the link was in my AIM profile. she looked at it, and this was the comment she left (she didn't put her name down, but it was too obvious that it was her anyway):

From knowing both sides of the story, you can't try to glorify yourself that you have done nothing wrong! 1) Her current "hook-up" is really her current boyfriend, who may I add makes her extremely happy. She has become one of the most selfish and immature people I have ever met. I wonder why I didn't see that before. Venting is ok. It helps, esp venting in a journal, I have one on OpenDiary. as for the pissing match, as shallow as it sounds I had one of those with my ex for months and honestly, I think it was the only way to put closure on the whole thing. We're friends now (most days) but I think the pissing match helped that. It gets your feelings out. Then again i'm just a girl ane we are apparentely gifted with the ability to be complex (or whatever it was earlier in the thread)

Point being, do what you feel is right for you, this girl sounds like she has some issues to work out and needs to grow up a little bit. Just know something better will come along and everything will work out the way it's supposed to. :nod:
