Don't know how many here have been following my saga with the Black T/A for quite some time. Anyway, here's the recent updates:

2nd week of september I replaced the fuel pump with a Racetronix kit. VERY easy thing to do. No dice on my problem.

About a week ago, I decided I was going to check my lifters, as there's been a rash of people with Comp R's having the retaining locks breaking off. So I pulled my manifold and there doesn't seem to be any issues. I ended up getting a stock set of lifters for shipping, so I put those in there as a test set because last time I set the lash with the motor warm on the Comp R's, there were a couple of VERY spongy lifters. So friday I got the stock lifters in, and was buttoning everything up. I go to put my TB on the car, and if anyone knows the IAC mod for the aftermarket TB's, I've got that done. That little bastard pipe popped out of the TB and aparrently went into the intake and down into a head. I heard it bounce, but it never hit the floor. Doh!

So, I have to pull the intake again tonight if the vaccuum cleaner trick doesn't work.

I've also got a new opti now (thanks to Jason Cromer, no questions asked warranty replacement for a DTC 36 throwing opti), and also am converting over to Heated Oxygen sensors. I still have to put in the O2's and the Racetronix wiring harness.

Here's a bit of eye candy, note the caption. That was after I polished the fuel rails while I had the intake off. A dremel and a couple of polishing bits and some Blue Magic do wonders.

So, if the latest trick doesn't fix anything, I'm going to start taking a serious look at my fuel injectors/wiring. The injectors were clean as a whistle, so I'm wondering if I've got one sticking open while running (not likely as I'm not having a hard start condition) or if I've got a wiring issue that's grounding one/two/few of them out causing a constant spray pattern. The inside of my intake manifold is just caked with residual fuel, and my oil has a noticable smell of fuel too. I DO NOT want to wash down the brand new cylinder walls with fuel!!!

Anyone know where I can get a good deal on one of those injector pulse testers that you plug in line with the injector???

So, that's where everything is. One year and two months since the car ran right.
