My tires are running real bald, as in dangerously so. Does anyone know f any palce where I can get some tires for a good cheap price? New or if the price is low enough I'd settle for slightly used ones. Thanks

What size/performance range are you looking for?

Tire Rack usually has pretty good prices....

Sears tires, or even firestone, I noticed they had a deal going on in that range tire. Youd have to check on your own though on availability.

Is your car a 3rd gen with 16x8 wheels? If so it's 245/50/16

Unless you are REALLY strapped for cash, I wouldn't go with just the cheapest tires you can find. Tires make a huge difference in the way a car handles, and going with a cheapo set will make a big difference.

from Tire Rack:

Fuzion ZRi - $87/each (made by Bridgestone)
Kumho ECSTA 711 - $57/each (good deal!)

I got fuzions on my car and love them. huge contact patches and great tire. got all four from firestone for $400 mounted and balanced and road hazard. that was with the family member discount my buddy gave me since he is a manager

4th gen... its a 97 v6, with rims of a z28... still tho I think it's 16x8. I may go with those kumhos.

I think the stock tire size for you would actually be 235/55/16 then. The 245/50/16s may rub on the front when you turn.....

stock tire size was the 235, but i've had 245's on for nearly a year. I think im gonna go with the kumho ecsta 711's off of tirerack... anyone used these? theyre the cheapest ones I could get haha but I read all the reviews, most f-body owners were pleased it seems.

from what ive heard about the kumhos, the tire wear is pretty bad...but other than that they are decent.

just don't get those sh*tty RS-A's or GS-A's or whatever the hell Chevy put on the '02 Z28's as performance tires, crappy as hell and EXPENSIVE $171 for one tire when i poped it. Gonna get some Dunlop 5000's probably now and when i move to Florida next year i am gettin F1's

Yea, my dad said hes wary abotu those because of the n/a rating for snow traction. I'm looking now at Fuzion ZRi's or maybe firehawk indy 500's? there are others, the stuff that is on http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare1.jsp?shipquote=N&compare=true&partNumber=&make=&model=&clarifier=&price=&width=245%2F&ratio=50&diameter=16&sortCode=46450&speedRating=&qty=&stockMessage=&type=T&URL=&newCompare=true&prevprice=&loadRating=&promoShortText=&promoUrl=&promoLongText=&sidewall=&sidewallShown=&frontTire=&frontLeftTire=&rearTire=&rearLeftTire=&wantRHP=&RHPprice=&sumRating=&hasSpec=&hasWarranty=&hasComments=&hasTests=&hasSurveys=&perf=&pre=&specCode=&autoMake=Chevrolet&autoModel=Camaro+Z28&autoYear=1997&autoModClar=&goWhere=%252Ftires%252FCompare1.jsp&vehicleSearch=true&speed_rating=TR&speed_rating=UR&speed_rating=HR&speed_rating=VR&speed_rating=WR&speed_rating=YR&speed_rating=ZR&startIndex=0&sortValue=0&qty_45YR6F1GSD3_=4&qty_45YR6SPORT_=4&qty_45WR6M500_=4&qty_45YR6GFTAKDW_=4&qty_45WR6RE750_=4&qty_45ZR68000_=4&qty_45ZR6FHSZ50EP_=4&qty_45WR6ZRI_=4&qty_45ZR6GSCL_=2&qty_45ZR6GSCR_=2 that is under 100-110 per tire. What are good choices for all-year-round tires?

PS I'm 18 now :D

i have Sumitomo HTR+ tires on my car, they are all season tires, decent traction, got them from tire rack for $89/tire...thats in 235/45/17 size, not sure what they are in your size (if they even make them.) dont really have much to compare them to, since the tires that were on it when i bought it were pretty shot kumho ecsta's.

edit: they have the sumitomos in 245/50/16, not sure if this link will work...

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Sumitomo&tireModel=HTR%2B&partnum=45WR6HTRPL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

$84/tire + shipping.

Dont know how good they are, but theres a shop in fair lawn by the theatre on the highway that advertises a "4 for $99" sale. again, I dont know what they've got. Just see it all the time as i go to and from the audio shop i go to. whatever they are, they're probably better than bald tires

where in fair lawn? by which highway?

on rt four going through fairlawn. from rt four in paramus, head west to fairlawn. keep going until you pas the movie theatre and go under the train tracks (it'll be the first bridge after the theatre) BEFORE the light, turn right off of the road. then make a left when you come to the stop sign. after you go through the light, make a left BACK onto route four (heading in the opposite direction now) and it'll be on the corner. i think its a firestone store. shouldnt be too hard to miss. its got a bit "4 TIRES/$99" sign in the glass.

Thanks man, I'll check that out tomorrow.
On another note I was recommended these Falken tires http://www.vulcantire.com/ze512_t.htm are good both performance and all season, and they're at a great price: $64/tire for 245/50/16 H rates, and 83 each for Z rated. Anyone ever tried em/heard of em? cuz those are a great friggin price
