sorry about teh october meet, things never really got off teh ground. too many busy schedules involved i guess. oh well.
from what i have been reading it sounds like north jersey has things rollin already for next month.
Date: 11/27
Location: Fuddruckers on Rt. 22 in Bridgewater
Time: Gather around 2:00pm and go in to eat around 3:00 or 3:30 pm

for those of you who haven't been to this particular fudds, they have a large parking lot and friendly management. it is not as far into north jersey as we had hoped to venture, but it is a good start.

This is what I gathered from Chuck the other day :

Hes been trying to talk to the guy in charge of party's at the pool hall he has been looking at. He expects to have it before or after the weekend around Thanksgiving.

I think its safe to say Chucks got it covered and hes ahead of the game.

yes here is what i am looking at and from talking with a couple people throwing some info in. here this is what im looking for date time place etc.

Date: nov 27 or 28 (saturday after thanksgiving people will be back from school or at least have a break.) if we cant do that then the 20th or 21.

time: if we want it during the day round 4Pm if at night I could swing like 7Pm. If we get there before 8 the rate is discounted.

Place: Herberts Billiards in Secaucus. Right next to the Meadowlands Expo Center.

Parking: we could have an entire parking garage if we wanted to. The top level is perfect for something of this nature.

Price: that is what i still have to negociate with this guy. If all goes well I could tell him we will have it there when its north jerseys turn. even if it is somewhere else at least we could always go back.

What this place has: alot of pool tables, the bigest tv in a bar in new jersey, a game room, great food like fridays type food. things right out the front door enclude movie theaters places to eat a mall about 1/2 mile away. directions to this place is easy jsut ask if you need them but let me get thigns set in stone first.

*** Whoever knows the parking lot, check it for clearnce issues at the enterance.... I have approx 2" of ground clearence under the middle of my car so medium size speed bumps or steep driveways are a major concern for me as stupid as it may sound.

more then likely will be a saturday around 5. We are looking at a set price per person which would include pool, assorted appitesier platters, 2 sodas or waters, and a couple tokens for the game room. beer and drinks will be a pay as you drink (sorry cant afford the open bar yet). I am awaiting the final paperwork that I will go over with justin and tim later tonight and the date will be set and all the relative info will be released to the general public 8)

the meet is gonna be held on the 27th. we are looking at a mid afternoon kind of a time(2:00 or 3:00 meet time)
this will give us a chance to hang out and check out each others cars in actual daylighht this time instead of the horrible parking lot lighting we had at the firkin tavern gathering :)

teh poll hall deal was way too expensive. they ahve a nice place and all, but they wanted a bunch of cash as a deposit and it was only to use the room for a short period of time.
i know that bridgewater is not really much north.we needed to work on getting somethign together so taht everyoen could plan asap.
next time we go north i woudl liek to go way north, like ny/pa corner north. but for now we can get started at a location that is easy to get to and is happy to have us there.

I'm way up here too. I live ~5 minutes away from Paul, but there are a bunch of us here from Bergen, Passaic, and Sussex counties.

Don't take this like I'm complaining. As long as the weather is still good, I'll drive my car anywhere, it doesn't matter to me. I drove down to Atlantic City and back on Friday for the Teacher's Convention last week. Almost 300 miles round trip for 4 "Professional Development" hours.

im sure there were suggestions all over but thats not all they need at this point im sure. They need people that can plan a get together...njspeeder & tru2chevy are dead nuts in the middle of jersey and would surely travel but im sure they'd rather not travel 70+ miles each way several times to a north jersey spot just to look over the place and or set up a deal that may or may not go through...central is lucky with firkin they didnt charge anything up front for anything, just seated us, took our orders and let us do whatever pretty much. If someone from north jersey can find a spot like that that isnt horribly busy on a given day im sure they'd try to work something out but its better that a north person or central person or south person respectivly helps organize and talk with the owners of said establishment to get the details finalized then report the details on here or with tim or justin it would just work better that way. Personally i dont think i would ever try to set up another meet in deptford again because its just to busy there and too confusing to find what your looking for if your not from the area. Personally I'd say stay away from these "chain" restaurants like applebees for larger future meets since they dont seem to be very accomidating for the most part but thats me...anywayz enough ranting, bottom line is I think they need someone from each region to really step up into their own to set up something when its their turn.

i knew going into this that having the meet turn out to not be in way north jersey as we had hoped would not be the most popular decision. but teh pool hall was going to require a bunch of cash up front, i mean a ton of money in one lump some. there is no wasy teh club is currently in a postition to make that kind of a move.
we have retained the information adn we are plannig to move forward with such a gathering in teh spring or summer, it is just not a good time to have to front that sort of money.
as far as not having a bunch of posts about the event beign in limbo, we are on a shorter time frame than we would like. so teh decision was made taht i would take care of things since i have a ton of experience settign up gatherings and events.
next time around i promise that the process will be much more inactive with teh members of the region.

for now, please just get back to talking abotu attendance and having fun adn we will have a great gathering.

we spent time waiting for the same feedback. we wanted to know the where and when adn what of teh plans once we realized teh pool hall deal wasn't going to happen.
justin adn i have not been able to get in touch with chuck and it was down to go time. something had to be done asap and it was handled. it is not what we had hoped for, but it is something solid.
we will learn from teh difficulties of teh meets teh last two months and move forward.
i think not everybody is realizing that nearly everyoen involved here is new to this stuff. in this situation not everythign is going to work out to any ideal plan for a while.
we will go with this meet and work on a better one for next time. if you guys want to put something together for december or january that is further north, go for it. drop me a pm and let me know what you have in mind adn i will work with you on it.

i've only done it twice, once down in florida at daytona usa, (the place right outside the actual track) and once at palicades. i keep wantin to do it again but whenever i'm there i can never get my friends to go with me or i'm in a rush to make a movie :roll:

What are you talking about? More than half the people going are from around the Ewing area and Bridgewater is a 45 minute drive north for us. I'm still up in the air at the moment thanks to my brother needing help with his new house but I think I can get out of it.

sorry about teh october meet, things never really got off teh ground. too many busy schedules involved i guess. oh well.
from what i have been reading it sounds like north jersey has things rollin already for next month.

Location: Fuddruckers on Rt. 22 in Bridgewater
Time: Gather around 2:00pm and go in to eat around 3:00 or 3:30 pm

for those of you who haven't been to this particular fudds, they have a large parking lot and friendly management. it is not as far into north jersey as we had hoped to venture, but it is a good start.
