I just found out my first car, a 90 ford tbird n/a, is on its way to the junk yard. SO SAD... I sold it to my uncle a couple of years ago, with a big dent in the rear quarter panel and blown headgaskets(blown headgaskets in a 3.8 ford??? :omg: ), and I still loved that hunk of junk. He fixed the gaskets and drove it as a daily driver for a long time and just traded it in. There's no way they could resell that car, so its gotta be on its way to the junk yard. So sad....Is this weird that I feel so much emotion for a hunk of junk?? I remember everytime I saw my uncle and he had the car with him, I was so happy to see the car! Haha, sad right?

not really. as much as i like my v8, i still kinda miss my old 2.8. people can say what they want about it, but that thing was a TANK! It just kept going. 30,000+ miles in under a year? no sweat. 4000 miles over an oil change? I'll do it tomorrow. 3 1/2 feet of water, about 50 feet across? Lock it in first, and lets go! Sold it for 600, and i really regret it. i woulda loved to have that car as a daily driver and the TA as a fun car. woulda made the TA a lot easier to work on

its a weird feeling, but i get it. after movin back to nj from puerto rico, i found out that my toyota cressida got trashed by some gang in the neighborhood down there. aparently they went and danced on it and the hood and roof caved in a bit  so my first car sits in a junkyard over 3000 miles away from here.

its a first. like with girls (or guys, depending on the person whos perspective your looking at it from), you always remember your first.

About 3 months after my dad first got his 87 Z28, he went to the gas station to fill it up. Well, the ahole took out the little thing that stops the gas, and the guy kept pouring the gas into the tank...and it overflowed onto the side of my dads car.
My dad looked in his side miror, and saw the gas pouring out of the side, while the guy was just looking around like nothing was going on. He got out of the car and chassed him down Rt.3, in full work clothes. He then made the guys wife clean it up....
I always tilt my mirror on the gas pump when I fill up.

Ha that's nothing......in high school some kid thought it was funny one winter to roll into the back of my IROC in the parking lot. He was only doing about 2 mph, but that didn't stop me from pulling him out his drivers window and putting him through his own windshield while the whole school watched.........ahhhhhhhhhhh the good old days.

my first car was a complete POS hyudai excel. it was beat up pretty bad, used a motorcylcle carb, had to have a push button start cause of a short in the steering column, radio back light thing didnt' work so you couldn't read it at night(the trick was to know what station you were on then count to teh one you wanted cause the presets didn't work either), and you couldn't have the high beams/windshield wipers/windshield defroster all on at once or it would blow a fuse and the car would shut off.
teh car was a complete hunk of ****, but i gotta admit that thing will always have a place in my heart and more stories that could get me arrested than i ever thought possible. who knew a car that small could seat 13 :) LOL

erm...? he used to make fun of me. he was the first of my friends to start driving me around. i got realli attached to his car... heh it was so awsome just driving around in the summer not caring where my parents thought i was (usually they thought i was home sleeping). shortly after he sold it.. i brought the car up in conversation and he sarcasticly told me that the kid he sold it to wrapped it around a telephone pole.. i cried that night... thinking about the car. ehh now i have my own car to be attached too. :-D

My first car, was my 1960 Plymouth. Still have it, still making memories. Not fast, but reliable as all h-ll.

Oh, that thing above, is the optional 45 RPM 'Record Player' that my Plymouth is equipped with, and yes, it does play without skipping while the car is in motion.

I could see you doing that. Did he actually go THROUGH the windshield or just slam onto it like in the movie "Face Off" where the kid gets thrown onto his vette's hatch glass. That was an awesome ass kickin.
Give me a call sometime this week. We need to get that IROC all finished up with it's tune. I know it's lean, I just want to have some data to prove it and start getting that all squared away. After the part throttle stuff is done we move onto the WOT at the track and she's golden. Should be into the 12's :) .

My first car was a POS 86 camaro that I paid $2000 for (got ripped off). Had an Lg4 with quadrajunk and 700r4. The only good thing about the car was that it had low miles, everything else was messy. The trans started slipping so I got it rebuild, then I bought a Borla adjustable exhaust for it $500 at the time. Ordered some ugly aftermarket ground effects for it but reliazed it would still look ugly. Ground effects never came, got charged for em, was pissed and put in a claim. Got my money back with the only draw back being that I had to sign for everything for a couple years. Sold the car as quickly as I could because my Grandmother gave me $2800 to buy a car. Sold the POS 86 SC model for $2200 to a kid in town that drove it for a couple years and called it the general lee. Even painted the flag on the top  . He's still got it sitting in his driveway, I'm going to pickup the car for $50 and sell the Borla for $200, lol.
Took all my money and bought what I have now, a 91 RS, what should have been my FIRST car. It has a place in my heart because it was abused before I got it yet mechanically it's a champ. Bought it with 138k miles on her and had 5 previous owners in only 9 years! She's got over 180k miles now and is a healy mid 13 second car with TBI.... I'll never sell it. It's even been broken into 3 times since I've owner her. The 2nd time totaled her because the cars worth was only $2300 and the damages to the steering column (tried to jack it), door locks, plastic, and electrical wire damages were estimated at $2600, $250 deductable  . So my insurance is very limited but it doesn't matter, the car will never leave me.

He didn't go completely through the windshield, but the whole thing spidered out and started to cave in.

Prevo...you gonna be at Fudds on saturday? I haven't had any time to datalog yet. If you are maybe we can do it then. Possibly even datalog before the meet and then make changes later on there?? I'll call you tonight or friday.

I'm still driving my first car after 4 and a half years now. I was really sad when it got stolen and now that i've got it back, i think about selling it for something new...probably around the summer, but it still makes me sad to think about even sellin it...

My IROC was my first car as well.....don't plan on ever letting it go unless there's a catastrophic accident.

That was the spot for my first "ahem" also. Here's a tip for anyone else who tries it in a third gen.....pop the tops out for more head room!
