i'm actually considering doing a project on military service within my family...
My uncle, as I said before, was in the Army and guarded the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. For those who don't know what that is, it's a memorial dedicated to those who fell in combat but weren't identified. The Guards are on 24/7 duty, and they cannot stop during their shift, nor can they speak to anyone. It's a very solemn thing...and it's not easy to become a Guard.
my grandfather on my dad's side fought in World War II. I believe he was stationed in the Pacific somewhere.
My grandfather on my mom's side fought in WWII and the Korean War. I think he fought in WWII and enlisted during the Korean War, but was never sent to Korea.
It would be an interesting thing to do...I might write a book.

i got a 90% but i discovered that as correct answer is going into the answer box you click it real fast it counts as a right answer, so it said i got a 100, but infact a 90 lol
and i Went to the tomb of the unknown soldier once. Very solem indeed, i watched the changing of the gaurds. and its true, if you went into arlington national cemetary at 3am on the worst blizard you can imagine you would see two united states marines standing their, very respectable thing imo. I think they have a small phone booth sized booth their if its really really bad. but thats it.
