OK, so about 2 weeks ago a guy speedin thru traffic hit my mom passanger side and totalled her car. she had a 03 saturn, and now shes gotta find a new car.

So here are the conditions, she would prefer a domestic, between the price of 15k to 25k, pref AWD or FWD and an auto...she wants it to be an 04 or 05...right now we are lookin at a crossfire for 25k, a seabring convt. for about that, a new neon, i'm gonna take her to see grand prixs and gtos, does anyone have any suggestions? Also, does anyone know any good deals with financing and 0% apr in the area?

In all honesty, take a look at the G6, Malibu Maxx, or the new LaCrosse. All can be found within your price range. Also, check out the Cobalt 4dr too. IMO, the G6 can be had with a lot of little things, and still under 25k.
If you are looking at AWD, there is the new Ford 500 and Freestyle. They are a little big.
DCX's sedans, outside of the 300, is pretty sad.

They're having some really good deals on the Pacifica as far as I heard.

hah, thanks guys i just checked the post, awesome suggestions. I was considerin the G6 and the cobalt, she actually wanted to look at the cobalt but it doesnt come out till january i believe, and she needs a car in dec, the next thing we might do is buy a car i would want now and have her drive my car till jan and then buy the cobalt.

misterjuice- where does ur chrysler discount work? beucase that would be awesome, she really was intersted in a seabring convt, but she cant spend more than 25k and i believe she said hte one she wanted was closer to like 28...

We are going out tommorw morning so i'll keep everyone posted on her decision if any....

Oh and Silvertransam is a douche

Cobalt Sedan can be had now. Coupes will be out later this month.
IMO, the G6 will offer a LOT more room then the Cobalt.
Outside of teh 300, which doesnt meet your FWD/AWD deal, there is nothing worth a damn from Chrysler or Dodge. Both have been riding high off there LX based cars, but forget about the turds like the Sebring, Concorde, etc etc...

You can get a G6 with the V6, which is standard now, 16 inch rims, sunroof, and standard 4 wheel antilock brakes with traction control for under 25.

im thinkin gtp, turbo neon(auto avail?), wrx(auto avail?) or a left over gto would be nice too :)

GTP is over 25, and WRX would be an import. GTO is over 25k too. SRT4 is ok...but, is a Neon.

If it was my decision, I'd say warranty would be key in my search. chrysler is a 7/70 drivetrain warranty, compared to 3/36 from fomoco and gm. a lot of the import brands are pretty loaded on warranties.

from DC, i'd consider driving the dodge stratus, and sebring, and although it's love it or hate it, the pt cruisers are cheap and not bad for their price range. they're also really flexible in terms of options with convertibles or hardtops, and drivetrain choices out the ass.

i'd also consider looking at the ford five hundred and mercury montego which aren't bad from fomoco, and from gm, the chevy malibu, monte carlo, or cobalt, and the pontiac g6. From either ford or gm though, I'd highly recommend extending the warranty coverage to at least last the length of the payments. Trust me, been screwed there :?

i'd also seriously consider looking at a few other things too. The new 05 Subaru legacy is _really_ nice, especially the GT. had i driven it before I made my decision on a new car, it would have been a serious contender. of course i drove one for the first time a few weeks after I bought the gto. Not that I've driven everything out there, but the legacy 2.5 gt in my opinion just might be the absolute best sedan you can buy for 26,0XX. And if something a bit smaller is your style, the impreza WRX is a lot of car for just under 25,000.

there are a lot of other imports out there of note too.

Hey, my DaimlerChrysler discount works at any dodge/chrysler/jeep dealer...... i just need to give you the Control #. let me know :)

the discount is about 3% under dealer invoice, and whatever rebates/cashback on the car will also apply.

If you need anything GM, I work at Flemington Pontiac Buick GMC Chevy. You can call me here 908-782-3331, or email aoneill@flemington.com. The G6 is ALOT of car for the money, and there are GREAT programs on that as well as the Malibu.

ive seen g6's sticker for the same price as gtp's...you could pick an 04 gto for ~$25k with how they're trying to move them out.

GTP's sticker for near 30k. Fully loaded G6 with panaramic sunroof, 17 inch rims, heated leather seats, 6cd in dash cd player with MP3, and XM, and sport shift will be about the same.
Or you can get a Maxx for the same price, with automatic climate control, and rear DVD player 8)
I do like the G6's interior better.

ok so here's the lowdown for today on how my mom felt about each car:

Dayton Chevy/chrysler/jeep:

Seabring- non convertible, basic ammendities included, 24k- liked but was uncomfortable with the brakes.

Monte Carlo SS- really liked alot, but the rearview mirror was odd and she doesnt want RWD

On a personal note, the salesman was awful, he knew less about his products than I did and would read off the tag the answers to the questions I was askin...then when we told him we were going to the pontiac dealer he said that the monte carlo SS (not even supercharged) was faster than all the Grand Prixs at the pontiac dealer (i'm surprsied he didnt say the GTO also  )

Dodge/Ford Dealership:

Viper SRT-10.... ...84.5k so thats out

SRT-4- liked the look and the feel, but can't drive manual (and has no intention of learning)

Neon SXT- liked over all but never test drove

05 Mustang- liked the look, no RWD

This dealer sucked at life as well, no one came up and asked us if we needed help and there were a few salesman walkin around not doing anything, i guess we gave the impression we werent serious shoppers becuase i ran straight over to the Viper when we got in there...

Malouf Pontiac:

G6- looks nice, but kind of plain, roomy, but had alot of extras that were making them over priced...the cheapest one on the lot was something like 24k and the extras in all of them were ones she didn't want anyways.

Grand Prix- liked look and feel, felt it was bigger than she wanted, but would consider looking into more seriously.

The salesman here was awesome, knew his inventory and was overall very helpful.

As it would seem shes gonna go back out on wednesday and look at a neon more seriously, and test drive it. I'm tryin to convince her to grab a SRT-4 so i can drive it :)

Neon SXT are real inexpensive.......with my Employee Discount, you can probably get into one, nicely equipped for like 12K if not less. but that's just me :)

Did you look at the Dodge Stratus Coupe??? it's the same as the Chrysler Sebring, but cheaper, and u can get an R/T version........ :)

Yea, i pointed out the stratus to her, she liked it but then she was like "Oh but the neon is cheaper and i know i like it" i think she needs a smaller car anyways, shes had saturn and neon sized cars all her life. Although I wanted the Stratus so i could be like "I drive a Stratus, I'm a very important person!" (SNL fans anyone?)

As for the neon, i'm annoyed she wont learn manual to get an SRT-4, its so worth it, i'm gonna be lookin at one for myself in the next 3 months, so we'll see how much money i can get together by then.
