I'm so sick of getting these. If you don't know what I'm talking about, they are scam e-mails from supposed "Federal Ministers" or some other important person in Africa or Europe. They give you some ridiculous, poor-grammar afflicted story about someone dying and leaving behind a large sum of money. They ask you to help secure the money for them, asking you for your address, phone number, bank account #, etc. etc. It's so unbelievable that I can't help but laugh. However, when you get 2 or 3 of these a day, it gets annoying. Here's the most recent message i got:

From: MRS.SILVIA EDE

Compliments of the day

I am Mrs. SILVIA EDE a former staff of the Federal
Ministry of Aviation undergoing medical Treatment. I
am married to DR.JOHN EDE who worked with National
Petroleum Corporation for nineteen years before he
died in the year2003. We were married for eleven years
without a child. He died after a brief illness
that lasted for only four days.

When my late husband was alive he deposited a huge sum
of money with one finance/security company in Europe.
Presently, this money is still with the Security
Company. This money was accumulated from an onshore
engineering awards my husband won during the last
military regime.Presently, this money is still with
the Security Company.

Recently, my Doctor told me that i will die any
moment.right now,i don't have any alternative rather
than to took this BOLD DECISION.

Though what disturbs me most is that I'm diagonalized
to be having spinal abnormality .Having
known my condition of health that i will die any
moment from now.I decided to donate this fund to a
charity home organization(church) or any
individual(person) that will utilize this money with
my instructions.

The reason why i decided to invest this money outside
the country,is because of the high level of corruption
here.i feel it is better to invest this money outside
the country where the purpose of investment will be
fulfilled. I need a trust worthy person or
organization who will help me to accomplish my heart
desire before my death

if you are interested, here are my instructions

[1] The money must be used for orphanages, widows and
less privilege people.

[2] The orphanages home must be build and bear my name
for remembrance(like SILVIA memorial center)

[3] The money should also be used for their educations
and maintenance.

[4] 15% of the total money will be giving to you for your assitance.

If you will be of assistance, I will surely appreciate
and thank you for your kindness.

Thank you,
yours sincerely,

MRS.SILVIA

Pretty ridiculous, right? notice that the country this "Mrs. Silvia" is from is never mentioned. and she was "diagonalized" with a spinal abnormality? Ooooook.....

My method of revenge was simple.

I went to a gay porn site, and signed up "Mrs. Silvia" for no less than 10 free gay porn newsletters and pictures by e-mail. I also went to some regular porn sites and signed her up for another 5 or 6 pics of the day. This person should have some interesting mail for the next few weeks.

We get those all the time at work. Drives me nuts, but I just reply with my standard Junk mail module, and it counts as one more happy customer that I have assisted :D

It is a shame that people attempt to **** you over by posing as a charitable organization. They pull scams all the time up at my school. It deters from the actual charitable organizations whom are really trying to make a positive impact.

O well, **** these lazy-ass, parasitic criminals

wow, i never got one of those, i feel left out, lol, but heres a point i want to make now, ok say hypothetically, the email was real and "she" was on the level, and hypothetically everything she wrote was true along with her conditions, and lastly, lets say(hypotheticaly) you agree to it and send your info and you recieve the money... would you actually do what she asked or just spend it on yourself...maybe i'm just an ******* but all that money would go to me, her fault for trusting a stranger :D

Besides, chances are that "Mrs. Silvia" is a full-fledged spammer, and is using an e-mail address that "she" will not use for very long.
