Ok, so silvertransam(pat) and i were discussing this newspaper sales page my mom and i found in the Home News Tribune. It has sales for the week and one of the ones was "New 04 GTO convertable"- not only does it say GTO convertable, but it also says that its marked down from 33k to 22.3k with 11k MSRP or wutever that junk is and payments of 189/month for 47 months...does anyone work there and know wut the hell they are talkin about??? I'm gonna probably go tommorw or the next day and ask them besides the obviously wrong info about the convertable (unless someone tells me otherwise), if that price and everything is correct.
i bet its a for pontiac sunfire, and some ass put gto by mistake(or a joke)lol

yea i dont think it was done intentionally, probably a type-o especially since a sunfire was right above it.... when i went there last week i saw that red GTO, and yes it looked nice, if its the same one though, they dropped alot of money off of it becuase it was 32.5k when I was there.
oh and yea most of hte people i've come in contact with while shoppin for cars know less than i do and probably a 13 year old girl...its pretty sad
which is exactly why i wish car dealerships(specially GM) would hire 17 year olds to sell ****...that is soooo my job :x

the job is all about treating the customer other than a piece of ****. they expect you to lie to them, steal from them and all the while smiling while you are sticking the knife in their back. do not learn from the old pros. see if you can find someone that will actually train you to do a walk-around properly and then do it. every time.
you can make money at a dealership in sales. the most important thing is to look out for yourself, because you will be swimming in shark-infested waters. there will be people working there that will steal from you when your back is turned. that is the worst part of working for a dealership: the whole time you are grinding out your living only to have one of the other managers see your whale come in on your day off and give it to his boy, cutting you out of the deal completely. either you don't take days off or you find someone to watch your back.
i quit because of the constant bickering and in-fighting, and because i lost my wing-man. if you are surrounded by people that you can't trust, it's time to find something else to do. i went from car sales to driving a tractor-trailer, if that makes any sense ('m still trying to find out).

as to the newspaper ads, you have to read the fine print down at the bottom. sure, they can offer any car for $49/mo, but how much is the down payment? $15000? i've seen enough of those ads to know that while they may be offering a heavy discount on the GTO or getting big incentives from the factory, that price is most likely the "loss leader" for the day (one car only), and everyone who comes in after it is sold is usually not quite as lucky when it comes to working a deal out on one.
