What about my old late fees, lol. I think I owe something like $4 but have refused to go to blockbuster because of it. I returned it ON TIME (half an hour before it was due) yet they said it was late. I got into it with the manager and he felt bad, told me the next rental was free but the late fee had to be charged! I still walked out. In the past I knew when it was my fault and just paid, but this time it wasn't, lol. Oh well. How does everybody else feel now that there are no more late fees?
Aren't you charged the full amount if you don't bring back the DVD within a certain time frame?
All in all I'm still happy but I think Blockbuster is too much of a monopoly. They want to say that they're rental services should be included with retailers SELLING DVD's like BestBuy and Walmart, etc. Does anybody have any feelings about that? I think it's :bs: and they should be penalized just like Microsoft. They argue that they only have a small percentage of the market but their definition of the market is pretty lame.

that story broke like 2 months ago...they just give you a grace period its not a no more late fees thing from what i read way back when...they basically were saying they'll give you a couple weeks before they start charging...they had to keep up with what hollywood had done with their 5 day rental thing...didnt blockbuster buy hollywood?

The story might have broke 2 months ago but it didn't take effect until the new year!

latest thing I heard was that there are no late charges for the movies for the first week. anything after a late period of 1 week, and they'll charge you full price for the movie!!

oh, and this little ploy they have going is to attempt to compete with NetFlix

I'd have used them if I had time to plan to watch a movie. Usually it was a last resort for a night gone sour. So to save money a few friends pitch in for a movie. My friend used to work at Blockbuster in Hillsborough so he gets free rentals ALL the time, I even have a few that I never had to return :) .

im actually a manager at a blockbuster lol they way its gonna work is that you have a full week after the rental period to return it with no fees. at that point the movie will be sold to the credit card on the account (read the fine print of the app you signed when you opened your account  ) if you return within 30 days of that 7th day you get your month back -1.25 (most stores are different) if you dont return it within the 30 days or after the 30 days your SOL cause your not gettin your money or your movie back. oh and if you choose to keep it you dont get the cover box that goes with it. any questions? btw ive explained this about a million times to customers
