Free 3.1 V6 Long Block out of a running 1991 camaro. Â*This thing is taking up space in my friends garage and needs to get out!! Â*We also have a 1989 Pontiac Firebird with a 2.8 Liter V6. Â*IF someone comes out within the next 2 - 3 weeks, you can pull whatever you like off that engine to basically give yourself a complete running motor, minus the alt and starter. Â*

I can't do better than free guys, send me a message if your interested. Â*I will not ship, you have to come out to Robbinsville, NJ.

Thanks,

Damien

What about a free 89 Pontiac Firebird? Any chance the whole car is taking up space and needs to be thrown out?

That car is taking up space as well. You can take the whole thing for $200. Whats its got thats good:

-Complete Drivetrain (2.8 V6 Engine, 4 speed auto and rear end w/28 spline axles)
-Clean NY Title and Vin Plates
-Really Nice 15 Aluminum Wheels with no curb rash and very good tires with plenty of tread. (1 has a hole so will either need to be repaired or replaced)
-Good Y-Pipe and cat, the cat back system looks very new
-Lower Dash in good shape as well

The only thing on the car that I still need is the windshield. Let me know...

I am interested, however my preference would be a Trans Am. However for $200 I can begin to build my own from parts these other guys are selling off.

Give me a day or two to search the boards here for parts and tally a cost. Might just spend 1 whole day driving all over NJ picking up parts to build my own TA look alike.

Thanks.

So you wanna build this $200 firebird into a TA clone?

The reason why I am getting rid of the car is the T-tops were leaky and rotted the floorboards to poop. What I have listed above is really all thats good on the car. The frame is perfect, and the rear quarter panels are mint and the hatch is in good shape but has rust underneath.

I already took off the doors, front end and rear bumper cover.

According to thirdgen.org it has 3.42 gears but I don't know if it is a posi or open rear.

99% of 3rd gen v6 cars had open 3.42 rears. I don't know if any had a factory posi....

Ah ok, I misunderstood. Sounds like more work than I'm capable of. Any chance I could get some pics of the afflicted areas?

Sorry guys, the 3.1 long block has now been spoken for.

As far as the axles go, I need them in the car to tow the thing to the junk yard. Basically you have 1 of 2 options:

1. Bring your own set of wheels and you can have the car for $150 ($200 if you want the firebird 15in wheels with no curb rash and good tires). For $150 you will get the complete 2.8 L Drivetrain (V6 Engine, Auto Trans & 3.42 Rear w/ 28 spline axles). Y-Pipe, Cat and Fairly New Cat Back System. Full Brakes and Front & Rear Suspension.

2. Wait till I junk the car and I will sell the axles for about $100.

The driverside floorboard is completely gone on this car. It could be repaired but I don't think its worth it. This is definatly just a parts car.
