Im watching it right now, they just pulled the motor and tranny getting ready to tear it down(turns out it was a spun rod bearing). Â*I am surprised at how simple it is to pull the engine out(out the bottom) i thought it'd be a little more involved. Â*I definately needed to know that for when i do my motor swap. Â*now i just need to buy my two post lift for my garage and i'm set.

Watching it now, they rerun those shows on Sundays too fortunately.
They've had that project car for a while now, some cool stuff coming for it in future episodes I think. 8)

anything looks easy on TV... you see that huge mess of wiring? I bet they spent hours upon hours dropping that motor.

Supposedly there's guys out there (who are rather experienced) who are known to have a LS1 drive in and have pulled the motor out the bottom in sub 2 hours.

I dont doubt it. After a while its 2nd nature if you do it a lot.
Im still waiting for them to finish that glass Tri-Five chevy.

Yeah, with enough experience I guess anythings possible. I can pull out my engine and transmission in 40 minutes ....thats including getting the damn thing on jackstands. Drain coolant, unbolt torque arm, driveshaft, headers, motor mount bolts, few wires and hoses, radiator and out it goes.

But then again I dont have a mess of wiring or emissions controls.
