R.A.s suck

kenny just when back to ct. today he starts class on tuesday... as soon as he gets there... he calls me all pissed off. the r/as do searches over break and they took his insense bottle. the one from his dad... but still i wudda been pissed if they took the one i gave him. there was a lotta sentimental value to both of those bottles... hes so pissed off rite now. he hadnt burned anything in them either... theyre up there for decoration... either way.. i feel bad now..

since the seton hall fire, there are very specific rules of what can be displayed in a dorm room, even for decorative purposes. it may seem stupid, but all those things (candles incense etc) can pose more of a threat than you think, with college kids being as careless as we sometimes can be. basically what it comes down to is students know these rules when moving in, and are reminded every periodical inspection. if they choose not to follow the rules, then the people who impemented them have every right to take action. the smart thing to do would be to hide things over break, or when you know an inspection will be taking place. underage residents are also not supposed to have alcohol in their possession, but do you think that gets followed? there are ways around everything. also, once you get to college you will realize it's not always the RAs who "suck" but many times it's the GRD or the AD who are really hardcore about enforcing the rules. most RAs are very chill and don't really care what you do (mine lives next door to me, and actually covers for me so i won't get in trouble for certain things) all in all, don't feel bad, he could have avoided this and there is nothing for you to feel bad about

jm. i dont think it was actually his ra. the convo was really short and he was pretty upset so he cudda said sumthing else. either way... yea. kennys a freshman... he didnt kno anybetter. hopefully hell learn. lol

Yeah i dont like my R.A's at all, over break they searched my room and took my really coool EMPTY!!!! Jagermiester bottles. They were there for decoration so i dunno why they took em....but i guess its better then them catching me chuggin it down like its water....

my frosh year of college i had an RA like that. she got pissed at us when she walked into a party we forgot to invite her to. we made it up to her by giving her beer.
once a few of us got fake id's and got into the off campus bar she even bought us a pitcher to congratulate us for getting served. :)

we tried to get her to drink with us one day, but it turns out she stopped drinking because one of her friends is an alcoholic and now she thinks drinking is the worst thing in the world. but she still allows us to do whatever we want.
