the idea the gtp guys came up with was just to go to days that have bracket racing including trophy marathon days...you'd put $ into a pot before hand and i guess it would be a 1-2-3 system basically
5 points for each event you participated in
points for best reaction of the day
points for runner up
points for winner
points for the first round you get through
then at the end of the season total the points and who ever has most wins...figure if there are 20 designated events thats $500 in racing out of pocket...get a 10 man field at $100 initial fee thats $1000 pot do like 600-300-100 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and youd get your racing $ back and it would be a wash...get 20 guys up $100 at the beginning of the season which is doable and go at it for say a $1000-$1200 top prize...i think that would be fun..but maybe thats just me I'd be willing to front $100 to win that much back at the end of the season :)

havign a race series would be cool. we jsut don't really have teh resources to get it done right now other than borrowing a few lanes to run the north vs. central vs. south thing.
that was origiannly only planned as a 3 event deal, one trip to each track in the state.
bill, if you wanna reasearch getting together a little series for us it woudl be great. look around for other examples we can use and maybe we can put something in front of all the tracks in teh middle of the season or for next season. hit me up on AIM to talk about it.

the race series im talking about isnt quite organized...its not a rent a lane type of thing...youd go to some of the larger races say the efi races at one local track like etown race in the brackets against other cars whether thats civics or hondas or other fbodies or what have you that day...then based on how you did that day you'd get points...nothing that hard to understand or do and certainly nothing you'd have to work out with a track...more of an internal thing so everyone on this site could be involved...really if you got a commitment from like 20-30 peeps whether thats in their beaters or their 02 Trans am convertible it wouldnt matter what they raced in then you can set a fair buy in and at the end of the season we could have a little BBQ meet and invite everyone from the race series and give out the cash/GC prizes, trophies and maybe put some of the $ towards food for the BBQ or something.
i bet my truck could run dead on 22 second dial ins

my old cavy was the king of beater bracket racing. when i first broke teh rear in my old camaro i was trying to compete in points at e-town. cavy got pressed into service adn went many rounds for me :)
nothing beats being able to launch with the convertor fully stalled up against teh brakes and the car not even trying to spin the tires. hell, the cavy would bog when i let go of teh brakes...lol
