what you gonna do to the Drivetrain?
Later,
Santos
do up the whole car while its apart, suspension, brakes, anything you have in your buget so that once the motors in you arent overpowering your stock stuff...
you might also want to think about ordering new weatherstriping and mouldings, since they might be dryrotted and are easily broken when removed for paint.
just a little somthing i learned, order everything you think you MIGHT need before you start the rebuild, that way once your excited and its goin back together you wont hit as many snags...

IMO...it would be a big waste of time to do a 335. All that time and money could be spent on a 383 and make way much more power. But your car, your money.
a stroked 5.0 is pointless, yes it makes more power than a stock 305 BUT costs the same if not more than a mild 350 Â*You can find a 350 long block easily for under 300 and rebuild it for another 300, Â*i'm sure the 335 stroker kit is at least 600. Â*
BTW...whats with everyones avatars lately? Â*the girl pics... i'm so lost. ....did i miss something while i was in detroit for a day? lol

Its the same price to do a complete super stock rebuild on my 305 as it is to get a complete rebuild kit to make it a 355 stroker.

You CANNNOT make a 305 into a 355. You will overbore.
Its a 335, many people have done it. You can do it, but what the point is that you could probably find a 350 and clean it up and make it a 355 with a rebuild kit for just as cheap as a 335 stroker and make more power. You will have to notch the block for the longer stroke as well.
335 is a stroked 305.
355 is a .030 over 350
383 is a stroked 350

335 is a stroked 305.
355 is a .030 over 350
383 is a stroked 350
355 from a 305 formula: 305 block punched 60 over, GM's 3.8" "383 stroker" crank reground with smaller rod journals for an overall stroke of 3.92" = 355 cubes of 305 block fury and a lot of wasted dollars.
Not that you'd have very much fun with a super thin walled 305 but just proving that ANYTHING can be done with enough creativity (or stupidity).

i dought it would be stupidity if a lot of people make 355 stroker kits
then do it and prove everyone wrong

HA! .060 over 305!! Enjoy that. Thast cutting it a little close to the water jackets for my taste. Hell...you could keep taking it out, but there was a reason there is a 335 kit, because there is still some wall left.
And thats a LOT of work for getting pretty much the same power you would if you went to a 350 and bored it out .030 over.
you wouldnt make the same power though, the 350's larger bore unshrouds the valves better so it will make more power. the 305's bore is smaller and shrouds the valves more, so air flow in and out of the engine is less than optimal to put it lightly.
