Anyone have a 4th gen rear, preferably posi/lim slip w/ discs and at least 3.42 gears (must have ABS though) that they can sell? Even if its lacking one or two of those traits post up and I'll see what we're workin with. My rear is shot and I'm looking to buy a new one ASAP, if noone here's got on I'll be getting one where Ted got his hopefully (Disc, posi, 3.42, $150 plus $125 shipping)

Thanks

Check out contemporary corvette (www.contemporarycorvette.com). They don't list any F-body parts on the website, but you can call them or check their eBay auctions (seller name = Fparts) to see what they have.

They are located just across the river from central Jersey in Bristol, PA, so arranging pickup shouldn't be too hard for ya.

actually I beileve that Fparts is who Ted got it from. And it that's the case I can take my dad's car (pimpin' hyundai) to pick it up and save a lot of cash on shipping.. I'll give them a call in the next couple days then. Thanks (If anyone has one for sale still let me know tho).

Called the shop the problem is a broken tooth. Tomorrow my mechanic is gonna get me a price quote from the trans shop on how much for the swap to that rear end, since I have drums now and that's discs (an upgrade I have wanted to make). As ar as just swapping gears he said there's no way to know until they do it. I still have my old 3.08s in my garage... but I'd prefer to have 3.42 even tho I'm gonna need a tune. So looking for 3.42 ring/pinion now...

Whoa....a busted tooth on which gear? pinion or ring?

The shop couldn't quote you a price on a gear swap? Wow....surprised at that one. I guess they don't go directly by book time.

No they didnt give my mechanic any book time for swapping gears said they'd have to see how long it takes, hes gonna call them tomorrow about swapping the entire rear. My mechanic was tellign me that I'd need the master cylinder and proportioning valve for switching to discs tho, but a little time on the camarov6.com forums searching has pretty much negated that.

Yea, the only thing you will need is all the brake hardware on the rear, and something for the E-brake (don't remember what).
