Well I got to work today and turned off and took the key out of my truck and it kept running. Eventually I got it to cut out somehow or another. Then when I went out for lunch the battery was completely dead. :(
Even worse I tried jumping it with my father's Maxima and then my IROC and it still wasn't enough juice to turn it over. It clicked but no crank. I'm gonna take the battery out of my IROC after dinner tonight and get a ride back here to put it in the truck.

Anyway I've suspected for some time that this thing may have had an automatic start at one time or another that was partially removed. Does anyone know where the wires are usually run? Do they go to the starter or the relay maybe??

Hrm, if you have it, you will see a lot more aftermarket wires running to the starter and battery. Sounds like the ignition cyl could be worn out. My old Taurus could run without the key in the ignition. I had to make sure that the ignition cyl was in the "off" position.
You could also have a connection problem with the battery if you arent getting a jump. Check the ground wire from battery to block or body, and check the positive cable going to the starter. You could also have a bad starter.

this is probably not it but my 86 would not shut off if it was idiling to high had to put it in drive to shut off when cold. another problem could be the ignition and it could just be a bad battery for it dieing on you if it is old. just some ideas.

Definately not the battery. Something drained the battery yesterday morning. I put the Camaro battery in it to get it home last night and then threw the old one back in and charged it up. It started this morning no problem. I have to check the wiring to the starter. I can't tell if I have any extra wiring to the batter....it looks stock to me but not sure.
