ouch, I thought the Solstice would look better than that.
New Impala looks classy, except I've always thought that the new gold bowtie on the ront of all the cars is a tad cheesy looking...
Sky is yummy.
Maxx is ghey :P

i said the same thing. I'd take a Sky over the Solstice. the grille reminds me of the early-to-mid 90's pontiacs, when the grilles were on the bumper of the car basically.
The STS-V is a classy car, i'd love to drive one of those rockets.
I'm waiting for the Grand Prix, Impala, and Monte Carlo to go back to RWD.

Nice! I think I'm growing away from the C6 :( . Except from the front end the side and rear (especially the C6-R) look just like a Viper. Not enough style, just lots of conformists. The Caddies look pretty good and that H1 is very nice. The Saturns also look REALLY good. I'd take one of the Saturns over the Buick and Chevy sedans... isn't Saturn suposed to be the cheapest GM has to offer?

i like the sky...is it gonna have a SC motor? Whats the word on pricing for something like that? Some parts of the C6 I dont care for but I'll take 340-360hp to the wheels any day of the week(standard).

Saturn will be moving up market, between Caddy and Buick. And with Buick and Pontiac possibly getting the axe, who knows.

Us cool kids at GMI got info from our sources that the Sky Redline will be packing a 253hp Turbocharged 2.0 Ecotec.

Heh.....I was just about to say the same thing. The S/C Ecotec is going away after this year, and they are adding the turbo. Hopefully the Cobalt and the Ion Redline will get the turbo right away too.

I'm glad Saturn is moving up, it's deserved. As for Buick and Pontiac, good, trash em and stick with what works. I'm partial with Pontiac since they did good in my book with the GTO BUT the Aztec was a major ****up.
As for the 253hp turbocharged ecotec, cool! About time GM brought back the turbo. Is this "253hp" the first time GM has advertised a horsepower number that wasn't rounded off to a multiple of 5?

Got to meet Lutz, Mark LaNeve (Head of Caddy), and Ed Walburn (Now head of design for GM).
Did you get a chance to punch Bob Lutz for me?? Since GM's been going down the drain lately, I feel that atleast a nice punch in the stomach to Lutz would be fitting 8)

wait, why am I punching him again? He is NOT in charge of everysingle thing in GM.
And if its for Zeta, really dont get your panties in bunch. Zeta was cut for serveral reasons, not that Bob didnt want RWD cars here. If there is anyone that wants RWD performance, its Bob Lutz.
And this was Media day. Its not open to the public till the 25th.

Last time I checked, he was Vice Chairman of GM, and Chairman of GM North America......right? So I'm assuming he's partly to blame for the bland cars and immense amount of trucks/SUV's which are being thrown in the market. I don't mean to blame Lutz directly, but something about GM's new market line just doesn't seem that appealing to a potential consumer.
I personally could care less about Zeta, or any RWD car coming from GM. I'm not in the market anytime soon to buy a new car, and if they do make an attempt at reviving the Camaro, something gives me the feeling it won't be as nice as we all hope. :( Now I've been a strong GM supporter (owned 5 previous GM cars), but something tells me they are a company with harder times ahead of them :(
Also, sooner or later they will cut either Buick or Pontiac to regain some lost revenues. I just hope he and the rest of the corporate guys at GM can figure out whats going on with their company, and try to scramble out of debt and the hole they've dug themselves into. Oh yea, and they need to get ahold of the UAW situation, and fast! (or the debt will continue to rise :( )

The bland cars are still of last generation. The cars Lutz gave his approval to are just coming out of the factory.
As for nothing being appealing, I guess it depends on who you are and what you are looking for. Lutz does not design, develop or produce cars.

Why do you say that? Why does everyone think that GM will f it up? Cobalt SS is spot on, C6 and C6 Z06 are amazing, Sky and Solstice are fantastic.
There are going to be harder times for GM, but not as bad as the media makes it out to be.

Well, Buick and Pontiac are safe for now, but the future could be different.
Only way GM will dig themselves out of the hole is with change of perception. It wont happen over night, but every new car that comes out of GM gets better and better. One thing I noticed at the auto show is that GM's cars are equal to or better then there import counterpart.
The UAW problem will continue to be a problem forever and ever. GM made too many promises to old workers, and are too nice to the new ones. Legacy costs will continue to take away from the bottom line. Can you imagine if GM didnt have to deal with unions like Toyota? You know how much more money they would have?
Overall, dont blame Lutz for eveything that is bad. Lutz's little touches have been seen, and they have been commended. He is not the reason sales are down. If there is any car guy inside GM, its Bob Lutz.

Buick should be the first to go. unless they bring back a Grand National, I see no reason to keep Buick around.
Pontiac, on the other hand, has to stay. It is the yin to Chevy's yang.

Saturn could easily fill both Pontiac and Buick.
Just take a look at there future cars.
Tell me you would pick a G6 over an Aura?
Sky over Solstice?
...and thats not to mention the future vehicles.
